featured a lot of old white guys making feeble attempts at keeping rhythm, including Keenum, Mullen, and The Bus Driver. I'm pretty sure that was The Bus Driver at the end doing some sort of dance where he swings his arms aimlessly.

The Dan Mullen show is seriously lacking compared to other coaches shows. I guess Mullen just wants to get it over with and spend time with his family. They seriously film it after the games in about 5min. I want to hear what Mullen has to say about plays as they are shown on the highlights, like Nutt does. Like I said, he prolly couldn't care less about the coaches show and would rather spend time with his family or team over being in a studio for a couple hours filming a high quality show.

Its because of Jack. He lives in Tupelo and doesn't like driving back to Starkville the morning after games to film the show.

he has absolutely GOT to go as host of the coach's show. That show should be an 30 minutes of advertising and public relations work for us. It should generate some excitement. And that's just not possible with Jack hosting it.

Incorrect. Dan calls 100% of the shots on this one. Nothing to do with Jack.<div>
</div><div>Reason why the show "is what it is":</div><div>1. Dan doesn'twant it take up his entire Sunday (if its an away game)so they do it fastest/easiestway possible.</div><div><div>2. Timing of when footage getsreceived. Meaning ESPN (or whoever) has to edit it down, then upload it. Then it has to downloaded and re-editedby someone at the TV center. And at the moment, no one is assigned to edit the footage ASAP. They do it when they can do it. </div></div><div>3. Live shows require a little more patients then what the contributing parties have.</div><div>
</div><div>Long story short...its easier and faster to do it the way they are doing it.</div><div>

I think it's up to the production staff to write and edit a more interesting show. Mullen and Jack are the stars, and maybe they could do a better job, but to me the whole structure of the show is flawed. For example, playing music during highlights rather than discussing the game. The set -- wouldn't a table be better than two tired guys full length? The music. The video packages. The stories could be more varied and interesting. How about some real statistical analysis? How bout a little slow motion and close up video to teach the audience something about football? I love how Chris Collingsworth teaches me nuances of the game as he announces. Make the show worth watching.

It's like our ad -- the fight song ad. I hated it when I first saw it because I felt it had no message but I've changed my mind and I like it and I think the message is that MSU is a friendly, down home, spirited university. That's not all bad, but why not make two or three different ads with distinct messages and rotate them some? Anyway, this ad is an improvement over the old "Mississippi State of Mind" campaign, but I think adding some elements could make it even better.

Anyway, I don't know how the department works, but my suspicion is that the production staff and not the talent are where the improvement can originate.

Dan and Jack never see what plays are getting shown, hence the music and no commentary.<div>
</div><div>Here is is rough breakdown of how the show is produced...</div><div>The in-studio stuff with Dan and Jack is shot blind. They never see the clips that get shown. They basically make uber-generic comments about the ebb and flow of the game breaking it down quarter byquarter. Without flubs, their parts can potentially be shot quicker that what the show lasts. Then the actual game footage and gfx areeditedin after they leave. Then its sent out. The showisn'tlive.</div><div>
</div><div>I know its kinda confusing if you've never seen how tv is produced...and not to mention I suck at explaining things.</div>

I've got to check the schedule to get the exact channel and time. Last year it was on Sundays but not this year. It may be Tuesday or Wednesday.
