The Delk sisters both transferred because their daddy wanted one to play point guard, where he was never going to play for us, and the other transferred where uncle Tony is now an assistant coach. Same thing with Hansbrough. His dad actually started paying attention to him instead of brother Psycho T, and figured he could get more exposure at Notre Dame. Too bad Notre Dame is going to suck next year, and the year he sits out they are actually good. Walter Sharpe was a lazy stoner who missed class and practice so the team voted him off. Gary Ervin and Todd Myles (the Brooklyn boys ) were both run off because they turned the ball over way too much (good riddance). Robert Jackson was called into a confernece game (I think it was at LSU) and when Stans asked him to check into the game, he just sat there . Stans had no choice but to get rid of him. I think there have been a couple of others -Tyrus Boswell (USM) comes to mind, and the white guard a couple of years back who transferred to South Alabama.

Also , if you think about the guys Stans has gotten to TRANSFER IN to the program, Shane Power ( Iowa State ), Lawrence Roberts (Baylor) , and Brian Johnson (Louisville) ,it really is a wash from the talent we have losts.

I thought Hansbrough transferred because his Mom was banging Sleepy Slater....

kudos to you for managing at least a little accuracy in this post, though not much.

speaking of Myles, he helped save a kids life earlier this year... http://www.nydailynews.co...9_untitled__2stab29m.html

ill refrain from correcting the whole post, and just add this one thing:
what is really funny is that Ervin had a better A/TO ratio that Jamot ever had. And Ervin's is just slightly lower than Bost's(who hasnt played conference games yet). as much as people love to hate Ervin, and as much as i wanted to drop kick a puppy every time he drove the lane without a plan, he somehow managed to have a better A/TO ratio than Jamont. and i suspect Bost's will end up right where Ervin's was at come March.

and hope something happens" shots he took after driving the lane with no plan, and add them to his TO total, then, well, you get the picture.

I've always considered a ill-conceived shot equal to a TO. And for that matter, when shooting FT's, the missed front-end of a 1&1 should count as 2 missed FT's, or at least 1 missed FT plus a TO if the opposition controls the rebound.

those wild shots would be counted in what is called his 'FG%'.

and if you want to call wild illadvised shots the same as turnovers, then id say that Jamont would still lead the way. ive cant even begin to recount how many illadvised 3pt shots he would throw up early in the shotclock right after bringing the ball up. he forced shots all the time.

but i really wasnt trying to make this a Jamont vs Ervin argument. I would snag Jamont every time. what i was trying to highlight is that while he was blaming Ervin for turning the ball over too much, and that being the reason for him leaving, the PG that came in and took his place actually turned it over at a higher rate over 3 seasons.

but the main point I was trying to hammer down is that our basketball team always gets picked on for transfers ,but it is just as transparent in football too, yet it is never discussed -Calvin Wilson (USM), Brandon Thornton (UAB), Jonathan Lowe (Alabama) Tray Rutland (JSU) Wes Carroll ,etc

Guys transfer in and out of programs all of the time. Why do we continue to have to give Stansbury a hard time about it?

because 1 out of what amounts to 12 leaving is much greater than 1 out of 85.

and also because in the last 4 seasons, 6 starters/major contributors have left the team. 6, in just the last 4 seasons. 1.5 players gone per year out of 8(starters plus major contributors).

to translate that to football numbers, that is like 7.5 STARTERS/major contributors leaving the football team each season(figured 40 players total) imagine if 7.5 starters/major players left the football team every season. im not talking about the Trae/Tray/Trey Rutlands of the football team either. ****, of those players on the basketball team leave, that sucks but oh well. i understand those players leaving, they are talented enought to play college ball somewhere, and want that chance. Rimmer is a perfect example of a player who wasnt used and left to get more time. he isnt one of the 6 that i counted, by the way.

Teams will always have transfers, thats understandable. especially when the transfers are players who arent good enough to crack the rotation. but when players who not only crack the rotation, but that actually start are leaving left and right???...that aint normal.
