These two would make a good case study.
First you have Dontae, rated I think in the top 3 or 4 RB's in the nation coming out of high school, but never had the attitude or put in the effort to be successful. He was constantly in trouble off the field. His career ended as he walked off the field to boos, and subsequently ended up in prison.
Then you have AD, who was a stud in high school, but not at the top of national recruiting lists. He had to endure 3 years of the McCroomvy offense, and had a brief run-in with the law. But once given a legitimate chance to be successful, he did everything in his power to capitalize. Ends up on an NFL team, and at least early, is getting a lot of praise.
