Hank Steinbrenner is an idiot. Not including Clemens, or more importantly Joe Torre, in the tribute the other night is a microcosm of the poor judgment he possesses. I predict the Yankees will be in constant turmoil and and they'll have an unprecedented level of turnover both on and off the field while on his watch.

Bump for Hatfield. He adores Clemens.
nah, don't adore clemens, he is getting what he deserves. I do think he should have been included in the ceremony though. And yes Hank Stenbrenner is a babbling idiot

I know the Dodgers had a game, so a personal appearance was out of the question. But, they should have had something. Torre is the modern Yankee success as much as anyone.

The Yankees have won 6 World Series titles in the past 45 years. Torre won 4 of them. They've won 10 AL pennants in the past 43 years. Torre won 6 of them. Yeah, I'd say he's been about as big a part of the Yankees success as anyone since their old glory days.

he filled out the lineup card? American league managers get way too much credit. Seriously the only decision that needs to be made is when to make a pitching change and the average fan could get that right 90% of the time. Maybe it's just that I like national league ball better (and to his credit Torre has done decent in the national league thus far) but making the argument that he is largely responsible for those word series wins just doesn't hold water to me.

Like Phil Jackson getting idolized when he's got probably 3 of the top 10 players to ever play basketball and another top 50 guy in Pippen....yeah you're damn right he should win some championships. Sorry that's just my rant.
