We've all heard the party line about how Cutcliffe couldn't recruit. But a couple of years ago someone on Nafoom listed the NFL players that Orgeron inherited when he took over. It was something like 12 players.

Kind of like how our party line for several years was thatMcMahon had left the cupboard bare for Polk. But if you look at it, after Polk's second year back we had more players drafted than we ever have before or since. And every one of those was a McMahon recruit.</p>

I'm guessing Vandy would have had 30-40, UK near us, Ark/USC 60-70, and then crazy numbers going from there.

Most from 2000-2003, a couple from 2003-2006, and another bunch from the last few years. Going to get another First Rounder this year in Fletcher Cox and Ballard will get drafted for sure.

for example...

Alltime players drafted: OM - 224 (30th all-time) State - 173 (46th)
Players drafted since 2000: OM - 27, State - 22
Players drafted since 2002: OM - 21, State - 14
Players drafted since 2004: OM - 19, State - 10

Anyway, like I was saying, a stat very easily manipulated by which start date you pick.

And before someone beats me to it, Egg Bowls since 2009:State- 3, OM - 0

Sure, pick the era dominated by the controversial fall of Sherrill and the Croom Error.

However Mike Espy and Shane Grice only played 1 game each, but I included them.

Congrats on your Championship.

is mind boggling. With the way things are going for them lately, I guess it's hard to remember that they haven't always been so good.

Remember the Curley Hallman and Jerry Dinardo Days at LSU and the post Stalling days (Dubose, Shula, Francione) at Bama.

Fulmer sent a ton of guys to the NFL

is because we've got several real stars in the NFL right now in Eli, Patrick Willis, Mike Wallace, etc... Those are guys these recruits know all about.
