I told myself that I would not use YourTube videos in this thread as they are not needed. But I think this one is appropriate. Bushy give it up, you've lost but you just don't know it.

No. But I do think, imho, that the sniping degrades a thread to the point that it becomes useless. At that point people can disengage or we have at times taken them down if it gets bad enough.

Thank you. And you're correct but h6 is hard headed and he's doing this for the children after all. [winking]

I think that it's hilarious that the SJW ask a stupid question and expects me to answer something that I've dealt with, oh I don't know a dozen times or more already, and then asks the mods to silence me. TEXTBOOK sjw material right there folks.
I agree. How does water flow on a flat surface is a stupid question. We both know the answer is it can't. It becomes stagnant, as it has met an equilibrium. I am asking to silence you, not because you make a point. Quite the contrary. You make no point anymore, you are just provoking.

The thread is dead now, and you have been proven wrong by several posters in this thread. When they get the best of you, your tactic is to switch topics. Now that it seems you are out of deflections, you have resorted to provoking.

Yep, and when you ask him to prove a point he says "I've already done so many times"....yet he hasn't.

While I'll never understand how anyone can really believe in a flat earth, I'd think more of him if he would just say "I don't know, you make a good point", yet he refuses to do such a thing.

Perhaps i missed this because i only got to page nine before I started stringing up the ol' bed sheets, but why the big coverup? Who benefits from keeping people believing that the earth is round? It seems like if the earth was discovered to be flat, there would be no reason to conspire to keep it secret.

Did the Rothschild family secretly make their fortune in the globe manufacturing business? Is science just in way too deep now, and they cant turn back?

I'm one guy dealing with something on the order of 20 of you jackals over three weeks and 1300 posts. I have no intention of repeating myself every time the same question gets asked. I have no intention of answering a question that is obvious bait (do you really think that h6's little drama over the last few pages was anything but an attempt to get the mods to lock this thread). If my answers are unsatisfying, tough, do your own research. I'm not here to give you all the answers I'm here to stimulate discussion, ask pertinent questions and prod you dolts along until you see the plane truth of the flat earth for yourselves.

Don't talk down to them you sanctimonious P.O.S.! You get asked the questions you get asked because you make statements without offering one bit of data or empirical evidence to back them up. Yet when asked to explain it, you claim you already have (you didn't) or that you aren't going to repeat yourself (you wouldn't be since you never explained it in the first place).

I'm curious
how does one's belief in a global earth and disbelief in God make them an SJW? Or did this accusation come from other discussion?

or are those questions too inflammatory to ask? If so, I withdraw both.

If you can keep from slitting your wrists at BB's inane attempt to convert all us "dolts", try reading the whole thread. His claim is something along the lines that the Catholic church has conspired with the devil to have us believe we live on a round earth....or some such BS.

It was fairly entertaining for a while, but Herod and others have exposed him over and over with empirical science, yet he refuses to back off his foolish belief. It's actually kinda sad.

His stated motivation for continuing his presence in this thread of "I'm doing this for the children" (I'm paraphrasing of course), and his use of SJW tactics most definitely makes him and SJW.

When, I need post #'s to back this claim up.

Nah, I'm good. I don't need you to give me any "answers", LMAO. Science and actual proof are enough for me, and 99.99999999% of others. But you and the other 75 FE's go right ahead with your little crusade; just know everyone else is laughing at you at this point.

I guess I view what an SJW is differently. And I'm not sure what tactics you are referring to - again, I view motives differently.
Then again, I do agree the earth is a sphere

So, just like the rest of your claims, because you think it has to be right in your mind, you assume it is. Try again, fishstick.

No, I don't believe in God. Yes, I believe the Earth is round. Yes, you are paraphrasing, I said I was debunking you to keep those who might actually be on the fence about this subject from buying your idiocy. I've been on record several times saying SJW's are the most awful people on Earth. Other than that though, totally nailed it man. Good job. Great effort.

So what we have here is a failure to persuade others of one's thought process regarding a flat Earth vs. a globe shaped Earth. This sound correct?

If the above is correct, then why continue in a fruitless endeavor. What does it matter if one cannot sway another to a certain POV.

I'll readily admit I'm not witty, smart or quick thinking enough to engage in debates like this. I believe what I believe and don't care what others believe on most matters.

Pretty much Jerry. Although I admit it is still entertaining to a degree, as I envision BB, when confronted with scientific facts from Herod, August, ganner, etc, to be frantically searching through Youtube videos for another one of his buddies' UN-scientific vids.

I have changed my entire outlook on the forums regarding posters. First I view all as potential friends with a common kinship of being UK fans. If not friends I can still give them the respect they are due.

If someone on any of our forums is a genuine fan I will go to bat for them unless there is just no other recourse. I hate to see kindred fans go at one another in a vicious way. Guess I'm getting old and soft.

It's not so much the disagreement, Jedwar - we can all agree to disagree on many things
It's the approach. Usually in a debate, there is a point/counterpoint. What is happening here isn't a point/counterpoint, it's one upmanship, at least on one side of the debate.

It's fun for the most part - and some interesting facts and viewpoints have come out.

Let me also address one of Brushy's pictures concerning the clock at 12 pm as the earth orbits the sun. The picture shows that after 6 months, day would be night and night would be day.

The person who created this picture doesn't understand how clocks work. He is assuming a solar clock and a solar day.

A solar day is the amount of time between successive passes of the sun over head. All of our clocks, watches, smart phones etc. are solar clocks which measures 24 hours between successive passes of the sun over head. However, he also assumes that 24 hours also measures exactly one 360 degree spin around the earth's axis. This is not the case.

Since the earth also orbits the sun while spinning, after 360 degrees of spin, the sun would not be directly overhead. The earth would need to spin an additional amount to bring the sun overhead. You can calculate the additional angle required, but for sake of argument I will call it 2 degrees. A solar day (24 hours) requires that the earth spin 362 degrees to return the sun overhead. This ensures that your clock will always say 12 pm when the sun is overhead, everyday of the year.

A Sidereal day is a measure of one 360 spin of the earth's axis. A Sidereal day is 23:56:04 when measured with a solar clock. Astronomers and satellite people use Sidereal time. GPS satellites are calibrated using Sidereal time.

It is easy to experimentally test this using nothing more than your smartphone. Go outside after dark and pick any star and note its exact position over some reference point, such as over the top of a telephone or flag pole. When the star is over the top of the pole, start the timer. When the star is at the same position the next night your timer should read 23:56 depending on how precise you ran the experiment. A smartphone is great for this since once you start the timer, you can continue to use your phone for other things.

Apparently you guys think I'm supposed to be some sort of superman. If you go back and look I've attempted to answer most of the questions posed to me, especially early on. At certain points however the questions, insults, and downright nastiness were flying so fast that I couldn't keep up. If your question went unanswered I apologize and if you'll ask it again I will be happy to do my best to answer it.

Your curvature of the earth formula that is quoted is not accurate.

I'm not taking your word for it. That's the formula used in textbooks and on official scientific organization web sites and used by spherical globular scientist all the time.
