I do agree that a major impediment to implementing a true playoff in FBS would be reducing the regular season schedule back to 11 games. What P5 AD wants to give up the $$$ associated with a home date?

Had a true playoff before; have a true playoff now; adding a bunch of teams does not add a bunch of WORTHY teams.

Giving Kirby and Saban 3 buffer losses before they decide to turn up the heat should bold well for every “Cinderella.” It will also be great watching historic rivalries being played 2-3 times a year. That won’t hurt the regular season a bit.

The part of the season that has 12 games - 13 with a conference championship game - shouldn't be diminished at all. Advancing after three buffer losses would do that.
