Stick to the eight team tourney.

SEC moved the last series of the season to rest pitchers' arms, nowthey add games to the tourney.

But if you lose anywhere prior to that, you have to lose twice to be out.

For tv. It's dumb. I likes what the CWS did by going to best of threes. Obviously we can't do that for the SECT.

Just do a 14-team single-elimination tournament. At least it would be consistently fair and not a contrived bracket.

LSU, USC get bye's on Tuesday, then the top 2 seed winners onTuesday get a bye Wednesday. Then the bracket finals are 1 game only instead of the team coming from the loser's bracket having to win 2. Add all those together and it took 4-6 games to win old 8-team tournament and it takes 4-6 games to win the new 10-team tournament. I don't really like this format for a 12-team league (why not just go ahead and take everybody and play a round-robin or single elimination tournament if you're only going to leave 2 out), but I do like it for the new 14-team league coming next year.

Even if one team came in at 3-0 and the other at 4-1, it's still been just a 1-game final.

There used to be "if necessary" games in the semis in case the winners bracket team lost. That's not there anymore.

you're out without a rematch. It's not a true double elimination tournament and it hasn't been for a long time.

It gives a distinct advantage to teams in the loser's bracket.

to one that changes to single elimination is bigger than when the change to single elimination occurs. The advantage to staying in the winner's bracket is that's where the byes are. I suspect that every coach in the conference is glad to know they won't have to play 2 games on Saturday then 1 on Sunday with a depleted pitching staff right before a regional starts anyway.

I don't like the 3-game CWS finish or the 3-game supers. I always liked it when the whole thing was a 6- or 8-team regional, the winner went on to the CWS, and the 8-team CWS didn't have brackets. They went deeper into a pitching staff. <div>
</div><div>I don't remember if the SEC tourney was the same way, but I'm guessing it was.</div><div></div><div>Of course, the 'new' format may favor our staff this year, so if we can get to a Super, then we may benefit from it.</div>
