A lot of promise ms that were made to players won’t be fulfilled across the country.

That's a lot of tacos on Tuesday and a 10-gallon jar of Pepto from Costco.

Rev share starts now. Any and and all NIl deals over 600 has to go through a clearinghouse. Some of these deals from the collectives won’t be upheld that schools promised to players

They’ve cleaned all that up long before this with front loading. Plus some kids rev share is likely more than their NIL deal.

All NIL is year to year. Unless I'm mistaken (which could be the case) - those payments are already done.

What do you mean? I think this is the money from the university that's coming from the $20 million bucket.
Yes but that’s has to be allocated out. If a collective says oh we can pay you X amount a year before today it was basically legal under the old NIL rules. Now each NIL deal over 600 has to go through a process from the new clearinghouse. So that deal that was struck a few weeks back is either front loaded and they paid it all today( which is stupid in the collectives part) or they have to renegotiate..

When you say NIL, do you mean direct rev share from athletics departments?

The $20.5 MM House settlement money is rev share. Everything else is "NIL" and is subject to the clearinghouse (for now).

But everyone has been prepping for the settlement and the clearinghouse for 6 months. I can assure you no one walked in to get their check and was greeted with “well we need to talk”. Go look at Mizzous 2024 and 2025 payments by month.

That’s exactly what’s going on. The collectives have to be emptied. Now they are negotiating from the 20.5. Now remember that 20.5 has to be spread out not all is going to football. 90% of P4 teams will allocate something like 15-17MM to football then 2-3MM to MBB and the rest to non rev sports

Yes. And that’s all been thought through. No one is getting a surprise today. “Hey you used to get 3k each month from BI. That’s gonna come from the school starting July 1”

Don’t be surprised to see some decommits from schools over the next few weeks. Don’t be shocked to see some upset tweets

You're about to see the Landing and all the other bar/restaurants taking over by athletes.

Southaven is nothing but Shelby county residents spending their big Covid tax refunds.

It's time, make that past time, for all these payments to be fully public. This BS cloak and dagger era of "please just give us money, but ask no questions about where it's going" needs to end pronto
It's still going to be private in some cases b/c it starts where we are all working from the same amount. Then the collectives can pay over those amounts but they have to be approved by the clearinghouse. So then the money will back to being under the table like it used to be.

It's the best of both worlds for the athletes. They get over the table $$$ and under the table $$$.

Technically it is. It’s not from a collective though. But the rev share is payment for NIL under House
Revnue share is.... drum roll.... the sharing of revenue that an athletic department receives.

Good gosh.

With NIL, I get it. That's private funding going to college athletes for an alleged service, and I don't see any reason as why the general public would have a right to know the specifics of those contracts. With revenue sharing, however, all that completely flips. The university will be using public funds gained through donations and revenue generation from ticket sales, TV money, etc to pay players. If I can go online and see the salary of every member of our athletic department, I can't understand why the same info wouldn't be available for college athletes.

Don't get me wrong, I fully understand why the universities are working so hard to keep all of this a secret. That said, it pisses me off that the floodgates have opened for our money to be used for paying college athletes, I get e-mails on a weekly basis to donate more, and yet we somehow don't have a right to know where this money is going.

A few things the players and their parents will not spend the money on..... game tickets and donations to their school.
