Sorry this has nothing to do with the burger joint.
There are eight wrestlers who finished a tournament with five pinfalls.
Name them.

The instincts are strong on this one.not a guess, but did any of the 8 not make the finals?
Ha ha! I’ll bet Stevo Poulin has pinned 5 kids before at youth tournaments! You didn’t say which tournament.
Rick Sanders and Ivan Yarygin- 1972 Olympics.![]()
Au contraire, mon frère. See the thread title. You didn’t say which tournament.

So any ncaa tournament but I assume only d1 ?Au contraire, mon frère. See the thread title.
That said, I would love to get my hands on some international results.
Yes, just D1.So any ncaa tournament but I assume only d1 ?
Wyatt Hendrickson
Schalles was oh so close, but ultimately could not pull it off.Wade Schalles
He had 5 in an ncaa tournament just not the championships. Honestly didn’t think anyone has pinned his way thru the ncaa Championships with the exception of hodge and he had a first round bye so it was only 4. Oh well wrestling time looking forward to the answer now .Yes, just D1.
No, not Hendrickson.
Wyatt maxed out at three pinfalls on two occasions.
Close only counts in horseshoes and handgrenadsSchalles was oh so close, but ultimately could not pull it off.
He had four in 1972 and again in 1973.
Hendrickson never had more than three in a tournament, including consolation matches. In 2021 and 2022 he had 1 in each first round. In 2023 he had three total, all on the backside. in 2024 he had one in the second round. And in 2025 he started with three straight before closing with two decisions. He had 5 in an ncaa tournament just not the championships. Honestly didn’t think anyone has pinned his way thru the ncaa Championships with the exception of hodge and he had a first round bye so it was only 4. Oh well wrestling time looking forward to the answer now .
That's what she said.Matt Pell? He had a good backside one year
Nailed it. Though Howard Harris was at Oregon State. Close enough for government work. Harris was one of the four who scored the max points (30 by today's scoring, but only 25 in 1980).Also, feel like that HWT for Oregon in the early 80s may have done it, Harris?
Congratulations. You nailed it. Will Lewan is NOT one of them.Im guessing Will Lewan was not one of them
Gable got all falls in 1969He had 5 in an ncaa tournament just not the championships. Honestly didn’t think anyone has pinned his way thru the ncaa Championships with the exception of hodge and he had a first round bye so it was only 4. Oh well wrestling time looking forward to the answer now .
Boom. Three down.Gable got all falls in 1969
And I think he got 5 in 1970 because he wrestled a pigtail. Then he lost to Owings in the finals. In fact, both he and Owings both had all falls going into the final round.
And let’s not forget about Chris Taylor in 1973Boom. Three down.
Let us not.And let’s not forget about Chris Taylor in 1973
Actually I think I’m out of ammo now, but I’m curious about the others.Let us not.
You are on fire. Keep going.
You just said NCAA trivia, not NCAA tournament. And since Rick Sanders was also an NCAA wrestler, it could be construed that his 5 pins in the 1972 Olympics would also count.Au contraire, mon frère. See the thread title.
That said, I would love to get my hands on some international results.

But I’m not Bushwood. I get your real point here. However I think most people would agree that getting 5 or more falls in a single Olympic competition is a pretty significant accomplishment. That would be a good piece of trivia to chase down. If we include GR, maybe Karelin has 5 in one Olympics.
But what about the esteemed firm of Spyker, 2 Guns and Ironbird?I will have my lawyers review all my posts before hitting the button.
