1970s Star Wars was racist, Heisman.

-1 viable black actor. Billy Dee Williams. And his character was a shady double crosser.

-James Earl Jones. Black actor that they had to give him a voice job because they couldn't have two black actors. So Earl was forced to voice Darth Vader. Who happens to be black and a villain. Coincidence?

-What about Mark Hamil being an Aryan blond headed Nazi?

Great Job Great Effort hijacking a f***ing Star Wars thread with your racial nonsense, Heisman. Maybe WhitesRuleSEC can get his account reinstated and tell us why "Black Lives Matter" has ruined Doctor Who.

I don't care. I'm just saying with Disney's politics as well as J.J.'s that it is obviously that the female and a black male as the prominent heroes was put there for the sake of it being a female and a black guy. Two whole black guys in the entire Star Wars universe and now he's the successor of Luke Skywalker.

It would be fine if it was organic but it's not.

This might be the most moronic thread heist of all time. A new installment in a classic series? Check. Removal of series creator and worst dialogue writer of all time? Check. General excitement in the movie going public? Check. New poster and upcoming new trailer to discuss? Check. Race/gender discussion shoehorned in by resident race/gender idiot? Sadly, check.

Thread title should be Star Wars: A New Low. Written/directed by HeismanWildcat85.

I had a whole post, but why argue with a troll? But seriously, explain what "organic" would mean in this instance. I'd like to hear how a character's race in a made up galaxy (not universe) happens "organic[ally]." Is it "organic" if it's all white males and effeminate robots? Why is that more "organic" than any other scenario?

Displaying the same logic as progressive goofs. If someone points out the obvious agenda, they must "hate" those groups. My goodness. Great debate tactics.

I think I made my point pretty clear and backed it up. The film will probably still be really good and I'll enjoy it but I know their agenda behind it. It's pretty obvious.

I think if you take off your victim glasses you'll find that the situation is not "obvious" as you state it. At all. But to a hammer everything looks like a nail. So go on, you crazy, organic hammer.

Calling someone a racist is nothing more than an ad-hominem attack designed to silence your opposition without presenting any evidence contrary to his point. Way to do exactly that and simultaneously admit defeat with one post.

In terms of JJ Abrams' casting agenda, why don't you just ask him?:

"We wrote these characters but when we went to cast it, one of the things I had felt, having been to the Emmy's a couple times — you look around that room and you see the whitest f*cking room in the history of time. Its just unbelievably white. And I just thought, we’re casting this show and we have an opportunity to do anything we want, why not cast the show with actors of color? Like not for sure, and if we can’t find the actors who are great, we shouldn’t, but why don’t we make that effort because it wasn’t written that way and isn't that the cooler version of doing this as opposed to saying ‘this is an urban show’. It f*cking kills me when they call something ‘an urban movie’ like its a separate thing, like ‘its that thing over there."

Diversity means nothing more than 'make it less-white'. If JJ went to the BET awards and noticed it was "the blackest room in the history of time", don't you think it'd be national news and everyone would rush to condemn him for his comments? Good thing his comments were about the evil white man.

Point out an obvious change for the sake of change and include the novel making the protagonist gay and I'm now "crazy" and you got Big Blue79 crying like a little *****.

Hoping Kylo Ren doesn't get the Darth Maul treatment. Looks like a badass villain.

Except for a few minor, but pretty serious, design flaws, the Death Star was/is a damn good idea.

I mean, with the exception of Alderaan the Death Star just seems like a big waste of taxpayer money.

Think of the Empire lives saved by not engaging in a ground war. Pretty efficient, IMO.

Except when Skywalker and the Rebels killed millions by blowing up 2 deathstars. Dudes killed more people than Hitler (or Heisman's hero)

This is true and anyone who can't admit it has observational issues. If that happened he would never get any more big-budget directorial gigs, and would be relegated to directing stuff like Leprechaun 8.

Empire still fought ground offensives on Hoth, Naboo, Kashyyk, etc...hell they even put forces on the ground on Endor and that thing was just a moon.

Death Star can't be everywhere bro.

Dude, seriously - this is just pure agenda driven propaganda. Your dark-side bias is really showing here.

At most, there were 1,148,309 killed on the first Death Star as it was fully operational at the time of it's destruction. There was nowhere near this many on the second one as (1) it was still under construction and (2) this time they had plenty of warning and a lot of the non-essential crew underwent an evacuation order.

Only completely anal uptight people actually give a **** whether there is or isn't said agenda in the new star wars. My mocking of his "debate" is because it isn't even worth debating. It's friggen Star Wars.

The merit of a new Death Star on the other hand is worth debating. The downfall the previous 2 was not on the Death Star itself but the overconfidence of its builders and operators and their miscalculation of the Rebel resolve.

Fools. Death Star never existed. It was constructed in a movie studio in Hollywood. Was actually only the size of a basketball. Special effects using smoke and mirrors. Can't believe you guys fell for that twice...and were about to fall for it again. Good thing I intervened when I did. You're welcome.

Heisman is the one who always cries about race baiting while he's race baiting. Not surprising to see the 2 resident racists liking each others crap and giving each other high fives for who can win the biggest scumbag award. We'll go all liberal and give you both a participation trophy. Maybe that time machine is ready so you guys can back to the 1800s and live in peace.

The irony of someone whose screenname is based upon a white character of a film celebrating the musical culture of 20th century black America writing something like that...

You can whine and haggle all day about whether it was fiscally sound to design and build a giant system-destroying space station, but the fact remains that the so-called 'Rebels' are the real criminals here, destroying the very thing against which they protest, thus costing many billions more of a republic credits. I hope you liberal teddy-bear hugging pansies get caught in an exhaust port. Keep calm and yub nub on, hippies.

The Death Star is a massive boondoggle and vanity project from the big-spending bureaucrats in the Coruscant-Kessle axis of power. Guarantee it'll go over budget yet again.

"Oh but what a boost to the economy it will be!"
"Look at all the jobs it will create!"

Always the same old story.
