Wasn't a fan of the first 40 seconds of the trailer..... but the rest was awesome.

So who was Rey crying over? Someone died in the snow forest... Han? Luke? or Kylo Ren (who is most likely her brother) ?

Trailer had a distinct lack of pizzazz.

They could have filmed Rosie O'Donnell taking a shower and some of you freaks would still be geeking, though.

Happy Christmas

They are doing a great job of keeping secrets and not giving away too much. Remember Avengers age of Ultron? The trailers showed most of the movie and in turn killed some of the pizzazz of the movie.

I give the Star Wars franchise about an 8/10.. Which is sad because to it's fanbase.. That's a horrific rating and a slap in the face.

It's cool, the movies are great.. I even liked the 2nd set. They just aren't exceptional to me.

I thought it looked more like a snow jacket like Han wore in empire strikes back

Sorry no...I do not remember because I'd rather get raped internally by a redwood log than watch that Avengers movie.

Seriously though, no hate, you all do you on this Star Wars thing. I hope it's good.

Pretty sure this is going to smash all 1st weekend box office records... Not that anybody really cares about that. Us fanboys just want to see a return of the heart and soul of the original trilogy. The less pandering to children, the better. You don't need to make a movie that panders to children popular with children. I took my 8 year old son to see "The Martian" last week and he absolutely loved it.

Easily. It could be as terrible as Phantom Menace and still blow everyone away. Outside of that film, I have enjoyed every Star Wars film including Episode II and III (especially).

Still don't understand people buying tickets for the film already. Pretty silly.

Yep.. Any Star Wars fan will gobble up these new movies and rightfully so. There is a lot of potential in this new trilogy. Lucas lost his focus. Hoping the continuation of his story is much more invigorating.

Phantom was pretty easily better than AotC. Phantom at least captured the feel and essence of the OT, even if the acting wasn't there.

Nothing can redeem the stinking pile of **** that was Episode 2.

People camping out for tickets to a basketball practice is silly too. It's all a part of fandom.

I agree that is silly too. I'm just saying that it won't be difficult to see the film even opening night. You could buy tickets during the day for the premier that night and have no issue. They started premiering the films at 8 p.m. the night before the official release and with a film that big, they will have like 10 screens showing it per theater.

AOTC wasn't that good, I admit. I enjoyed Quia Gon and Darth Maul and loved the triple threat lightsaber duel in PM but hated the way Maul went out. Found the plot difficult to follow (back then at least) and way too much Jar Jar Binks.

People sh.t on Episode III but it's one of my favorites. Empire, ROTJ and ROTS are my top three.

Yes, but IMAX showings are much more limited and sell out. The Nolan Batman films had their IMAX opening nights sell out at my theater over a month in advance. You're right though. If you just want to see a regular showing, then buying in advance probably isn't necessary unless you live some place like New York.

Good point about the IMAX thing. I never got a chance to watch the Batman films in IMAX but did see Interstellar in IMAX. Total game changer. I'm sure Star Wars would be amazing in IMAX as well.

I'll be disappointed if Luke is not revealed until the end of the film. I'd love to see a battle between him and Kylo Ren.

Lucas should've axed Count Dooku as a character entirely, and had Maul be the puppet antagonist of the prequels through all three of them as Palpatine's pawn as he assumes control of the Republic. Hindsight's 20-20, and Christopher Lee is a great actor, but they didn't flesh out his character enough to have just another random Sith for one movie.

I agree. I was never fan of him. Felt he was too old. I could see him in some minor capacity but not the featured villain in AOTC. However, I doubt Lee would have agreed to it at that point.

I literally fell asleep during the movie when Episode 1 came out in 99. I was so jacked up to see it and could not believe how boring and bad it was minus Darth Maul who was an awesome villain.

This one has potential, but generally what happens to me is that I get such high expectations of a movie that I always end up disappointed. So, going to stay grounded with this one and hope it lives up to the hype.
