The foundation to the program is being repaired.

So far we are exactly what i thought we'd be. Bo did our program incredible damage from within and Riley is the perfect man for the job. We need a steady coach who can teach the kids how to play football. But more importantly he needs to teach the athletic program as a whole how to conduct themselves in a positive matter. Now what does that mean you say??? It's taking personal responsibility for yourself first and foremost. Then taking that mentality with you and building the program up. So far Riley has been damn near perfect with his decisions. Banker really reminds me of Charlie before we recruited to the 4-3 defense. And i think Riley understand that right now there can't be any staff problems with bringing in a new guy. WE NEED THE STABILITY FROM WITHIN RIGHT NOW MORE THEN EVER. Riley has already started that process of turning over the roster for this year. And it will continue which will mean young players being asked to do a juniors job. There are still games to be won this year. But more importantly the culture is being changed in real time.

Hmmm, not sure on that. Nobody should be giving up on Riley just yet. This team looks pretty dang horrible on D and in the run game. You can't tell me Riley couldn't use some of the "foundation" he has, reinforce it, and continue building with the good there . Compared to tearing it down to the bed rock. Good coaches work with the good they have and find a way to make it work.

And that is exactly what he is doing. And they are finding a way to make it work or we would of been experiencing epic beatdowns. Remember the UCLA loss where they scored 7 touchdowns on straight possessions??? That's epic. Remember the Texas Tech 70 point disaster??? That was epic. We are sitting at 2-2 with losses that very well could be wins. What is Alabama's record??? What is Oregon's record??? What is their problems to explain their losses??? Riley is performing literally at a coach of the year level. How many points did Oregon just get ripped for??? We're in good hands!

Banker reminds me of Mark Banker. The guy that Oregon State fans wanted to be fired for quite some time.

So what you're saying is Riley and Banker's defense prevents blowouts? We shall see.

Ask Barry Switzer about how the "Jimmy's and the Joe's" affect a coaches perceived greatness. Or lack for that matter.

Who ever our next Head Coach was going to be ( didn't expect it to be Riley) They were going to have to change the mind set after Peelini stormed out the door, but let's face it Bo Peelini had to do the same exact thing when he took over for Callahan only different was that Callahan left Lincoln with more talent than Bo left Riley with.

Deep thoughts there. What does that have to do with Banker sucking forever and people wanting him canned at Oregon State?

Well lets see...
Maybe the Jimmy and Joe's at Oregon State couldn't run with the likes of UCLA, USC, WASHINGTON and so down the line. No that's too easy to figure out... damn Banker.

I love Riley and the hire...but Coach of the Year?

I think people don't really understand our current situation. Hell, i knew it would be bad... but not this bad. But i wanted to stay positive. Like rtt said... "we can't have anymore injuries" or something close to that.

The best predictor of future success is past success. Our head coach did a buddy hire on a DC without that proven success on his resume. I have serious concerns about the defensive coaching staff right now.

I guess Riley and Banker didn't have the Jimmy's and Joe's to beat FCS teams Sacramento State and Eastern Washington at home in recent years?

I want to see more before I form a lasting opinion.

When Wisconsin takes the field, and runs a jet sweep for less than 28 yards I will start to believe more.

Great point. Banker and his staff gave Davie every chance to right his head. But they finally sat him. Bo and his staff never made adjustments even after multiple years. WOW!

Yep, damn Banker is right. They were HIS players/recruits after all.

How does Oregon States defense look this year?
Well, poor Gary Andersen is stuck with Riley and Banker's recruits. That's the argument here for their benefit. You gotta use the same argument against them.

I don't think so, these guys clearly suck as coaches. They just aren't getting it done.
