We have a freshman on our team that has been red shirted this year. His name is Daniel Knox and he came into the program at 6'5 275lbs. He played tight end for West Lauderdale and was a 3 star prospect by both scout and rivals. Scout says he was the #44 tackle prospect in the country and the #13 recruit out of MS last year (this info can be found on the Athletic website.<div>
</div><div>I sit next to his Dad in the games and he shared this tidbit of info. Mr Knox told me thatMullen is planning to use Daniel at left tackle. The strength staff has his weight up to 295 already, with a goal of 315-320. A 20 lb gain in his freshman season is pretty impressive considering he hasn't completed one full semester. His Dad says he is benching around 450lbs and squatting 555lbs. That's pretty impressive, IMO. He seems to be pretty promising.</div><div><div>

question ... with who we will have next year - which position will we need to fill the worst, left tackle or tight end ? ..... I know we have needs at both positions this year but I'm thinking about NEXT season</p>

throw to the TE a little now but I feel like it's not really part of our arsenal (so to speak) at this time .... I hope what you are saying pans out, but I think we have been hindered just a little there because I beleive who ever is calling the plays (Dan or Les) sees that position currently as a "blocking-type" TE ..... but if this guy is close to 300 lbs already, no need to even try him @ TE

Who moved from receiver to tight end. You know, that guy that caught that leaping touchdown last week.

and it wasn't a touchdown.

Im referring to the pass from Russell over the middle that was too high.

we got johnson for 3 more years plus brandon hill and rufus warren. think warren is more of a blocking te and may have swapped positions. green may be eligible for a 6th year too, i remember it being mentioned in fall practices and i think they will look into it after the season.

There's your answer.

Plus, I think Addarius Perkins might be a TE for us as well down the road. Could be a WR or LB, or a safety as well.
