The goaltending call on Sidney was absolute BS, btw

Not that it matters anymore, but late in the game when they called a foul against Moultrie and Sidney went up and blocked it - it was a clean block. The replay clearly shows that the ball was still rising, even if just by a little, and it definitelywasn't goaltending. And they didn't call ituntil after KY players complained.

Still, itwasn't as bad as the 5 second delay call on Steele.........

It's the same BS every time. It's like the refs tease opposing fans for the first 30 minutes by tricking them into thinking that the game's going to be called fairly but once you get to the last 10 min or so, it's over. Aside from the two calls that you mentioned, Steele's "foul" on Miller's 3=pt shot was utter horseshit and then the foul called on Steele against K-G's And 1 was BS too. He didn't even touch the KY player either time. Then of course you have the Davis "block" on Lewis that was downright horrible and it led to Moultrie's flagrant. Speaking of that flagrant foul, I'm still trying to understand how Anthony Davis got to shoot those free throws when I'm 99% sure that Moultrie kicked Jones. Am I wrong about that? It's like they called a flagrant foul but then treated it as a technical.

I know that there are plenty of people here that are going to say that "the refs didn't blow a 13-pt lead" and if they want to believe that it was all our players' and coaches' fault, that's fine. But last night, I saw our guys battling back and rebuilding leads every time KY made a run until that BS foul that was called on Steele. We had a 7 pt lead, we got the rebound, and it looked like we were about to have a fast break for an easy bucket. The Hump was ready to explode until that dumbass ref folded and called the shooting foul. After that point, the refs allowed KY to go into superman mode where they couldn't foul and seemingly any time they missed a shot, a whistle was blown.

I guess that's all I've got and I'm just 17ing sick of it

The offended team can select who they want at the free throw line and they get the ball back at the spot of the foul.

I thought it was goal tending on Sidney. But the announcers called it a good block, but then all of a sudden it was called goal tending. On the replay it looked like the ball was still on the way up slightly, or at most at the peak and certainly not on the way down.

after a while you just stop caring.

I was surprised Davis got called for hanging on the rim. Hell, I didn't even know that was still a rule.

You could see on the replay the ball was clearly still going up when Renardo blocked it. I'm with what some others have mentioned. It's almost pointless watching a game against Kentucky. The refs tricked us by giving them 2 techs.

But the blatant non call on the Wendell dunk, the phantom Jalen foul that led to 2 made FTs, the 2 shots on the and 1, and the bad call on the goal tend on Renardo. That's7 points in the game we can account for that the refs either took from us or let UK have. Take away the flagrant on Deeat the end of the game when we were trying to come back and we have a tie ball game, and a much different end game.

or at least I'm fairly positive that the fouled player has to shoot the FTs in the NBA unless deemed unfit to continue playing

I also think that if you don't shoot the free throws, then you can't come back into the game at all. I vaguely remember some random game a few years ago when Rudy Gay shot two with his left arm just dangling there. He was in a lot of pain, but not so much that he might not be able to shake it off. If he had gone out, he was out for the game and the other team would get to pick who shot.

if they weren't able to shoot, but I didn't know that the opponent could pick who could take the shots. That's a pretty raw deal.

A terrible shot by their guy, he misses badly, we get the rebound and are about to outlet for a fastbreak chance to go up 9.... then, the whistle by teddy valentine gives them 3 FTs.

I just do not understand why UK NEEDS ANY HELP. Just more of the SEC protecting its moneymaker. They want that #1 seed, just like they want an SEC in the NCAACG in FB. They do what it takes to protect that

Is that a much more obvious goaltending offense against UK was totally ignored in the first half. Don't remember which UK player it was but Bost was fouled and the ball was clearly on the way down. Bost pleaded with the refs that it should have been an And-1 but they wouldn't even discuss it.

They never showed the replay of the foul on Steele on TV. Obviously, it looked like good defense when it happened, but the foul wasn't even what pissed me off - it was, as someone pointed out, the fact that we had a chance for a break away layup off the rebound by Lewis.

That may have been the play that lost it for us considering it potentially was a five point swing with only about six minutes left.

yup.... i was a bit behind the game via the DVR. that little series there was the complete turn on the flow of the game. we get the long rebound and it was a breakaway. the trail official called it. it became a really quick playback after that point because the sour taste was too much. i watched the rest of the game on double speed and could tell what was going on in the action. my wife couldn't keep up with it, but it was just so demoralizing to see it again. we have to find a way to take moments like that in the game and thumb our noses at it and really push past it. coaching would be the key there (and recruiting guys that want to play hard nose defense wouldn't hurt either).

Had a friend that just happened to be taking this picture on that play. Pic probably won't show up knowing my luck.
