The good thing about Masoli coming in so late...

Playing Ole Miss will be like playing smear the *****. Give the ball to Masoli and pray. Teams will just blitz the **** out of them, so he better be good. Dave Radar isn't exactly known for running the "spread"....

They probably have time to expand their Wild Rebel package a bit by the time the season starts. However, given the question marks at o-line, RB, and WR, it's going to be very tough on Masoli to make things happen by himself even if they do manage to implement a decent system to take advantage of his talents.

I'm just glad McCluster is gone. Masoli and McCluster in the backfield at the same time is a very scary thought even with a crap o-line.

Arkansas did run a whole lot of zone read with Matt Jones. Obviously Nutt has that in his playbook. It would be tough to implement something like that on short notice, but I could see that offense being a good fit for a player like Masoli if Nutt wanted to go back to it.

And by the way, for Goat, why would it be a good idea to blitz the crap out of the Wildcat if the QB running it can throw the football? We didn't use the Wildcat much last year because teams just stacked the box and didn't respect the pass option out of it, so we couldn't run out of it. If we run it with a QB that can throw, whether that's Mackey or Masoli, teams won't be able to stack the box on it.

except upon hearing the DE's first foot step, Snead conjured up an in-play audible for a toss right and sailed 10' high over the Corky's BBQ stand near the Rebel Club.
