Why am I not surprised?

But, I can't blame him. If I was a 5-star QB or whatever position I played, I would be up there with about 50 hats on ESPN and then I would whip out a MSU hat. (For clarification, this is what I WOULD DO in my fantasy world where I am married to a SI swimsuit model that can cook. NOT what I think Patterson will do.)

he's not as good as Julio Jones, Deandre Brown, Calvin Johnson, etc. who I would consider can't miss wide receiver prospects. In fact, not even in the same league. The pool must be pretty small for WRs this year. This cat definitely has an over-inflated view of his athletic ability.

I really wanted him until I figured out what he was all about. Now he's very easily forgotten.

If it's the ante-ing up that determines his destination, it's a two way race b/n UT and UA. UM might get him at the lower price if the other 2 are keeping him warm. Kiffin is sure throwing around that green paper.

He is the number one rated player in the state. He is rated as having the best hands in the nation. He is also rated as the number 4 WR & 50 player in the nation. However, he is not worth a ****, despite the daily threads about him on the sixpack.

He is on the take if he is involved with Bama, but Fletcher Cox wasn't.

And you don't want him, because you know what he is all about. You know...because you hang out with him and ****.

Sweet.

of the Patterson sweepstakes if this goes past NSD. I would take him in a heartbeat, but since he has no interest in State I'm glad we're not waiting around for him to make up his mind.

Recruiting rankings suddenly matter to you now? Good grief man, which way is it going to be?

And regardless of where he's ranked, he's not a can't miss like the other guys I listed. At least not at their level anyway.

but your asinine assessment doesn't hold much water seeing as how I have never met you nor '****' but I know you're a douchebag and I don't want you around. See how that works?

Bama started showing interest. Living in Alabama, it's all about selling these redneck idiots memberships to these recruiting websites. I would dare to say if there is another state in the Union that has more members than the state of Bama. Therefore, and I would love some added comments, it is safe to say that these sites aren't going to forget the hand that feeds them.

Have you ever noticed how many 5 stars are coming out of Bama? Let me add some past 5 star names: Freddy Kitchens and Tyler Watts. If a player begins to show up on their radar, he immediately goes up at least 1 star. Take our boy Alonzo Lawrence from last year. Went from a 3 to 5 star after the all star game because of some picks in a worthless event and Bama then wanted him. He then became all world.

Needless to say, Patterson is a great receiver, but with that attitude, he's going to have a tough go of it.

his performances at the practices for the Army AA game, and the Army AA game itself.

Bama was in the game long before he moved up to a 5 star.

Also, I believe Zo was a 4-star. I might be wrong, but I don't think I am.

No doubt he'll need to be humbled when he gets to whatever campus he's going to. But, in reality, most of them do, especially the MS players.

I think you have me confused with Bruiser. He is the rebel poster who talks about not paying attention to recruiting.

This used to be a witty, cutting edge board where people spoke the truth.

Thanks to the new posters like yourself, it is just another pasture full of sheep.

Rebel fans who acted like Robert Elliot was all of a sudden worthless when he switched were sheep.

MSU fans who do the same over Patterson are sheep.

I have to agree with rebfan04. Patterson showed out at AA gam. Lawrence showed out at the AL/MS game.

Now, I agree his 5* star ranking coincided with big Alabama interest. He's worth a 4* rating for sure. They had offered him, but MSU and OM were his only serious options. He was signed sealed and delivered to Ole Miss until the AA game. Then other bidders jumped in.

Same can be said for Lawrence and he just jumped to a 4*. Begs the question, should one event be weighted so heavily? Maybe maybe not, but it's just like the Combine. Players need to get their name out there.

And you better believe the ratings are skewed in football fanatic states in general. Nobody can argue that Julio wasn't one of the best out there.

between Elliot switching last year and Patterson's actions. Elliot changed his mind on signing day and came to State without seeking out a bunch of media hype. What Patterson is doing Smells just like Scotty Hopson. Granted, he is one heck of an athlete, may be worth the hype, and I would love to have him at State. However, all too frequently, players that are this full of themselves flop at the College level because they find out real quick that they are just another freshman.

Any reference by an Ole Miss fan over "how this board used to be good" or "what this board has turned into" should result in either immediate bannination or any other fitting punishment.

If that's already a rule, I'm sorry.

Its ironic that such a request comes from a person with 44 posts. Not that the 44 addresses your post-quality or ability to form cogent arguments, but that it would indicate you are one of the 'new posters' disparaged by the earlier comment.

SixPack suffered it, Nafoom is now, to some extent. When you win, the crazies and the sheep come out. They pump money into the program, but they make your ears bleed when you talk to them.

My humble assessment: Patterson is good. MSU would take him, OM would take him, Alabama would take him... I'd have a hard time listing schools that wouldn't take him. He's also likely to make an impact anywhere he goes. That said, I dislike drama and, personally, this doesn't help me like him as a player, whether we end up with him or not...

I only came over because Nafoom was dead. My apologies for making what appeared to be a logical connection between number of posts and time spent on the board.

Oh yea, kiss my ***, fuckhead. Way to attack me without provocation; I might as well give you some...

...anybody who thinks this board has gone to pot, yet still takes the time to post here, is the real asshat.

I thought the high profile schools recruited differently than the State's and Ole Miss's of the world. Even was mentioned in some of the articles about how Florida chose players, rather than recruited them. If Patterson waits until after signing day, wont most of the "Big Time" programs move on to the next candidate? I mean he is good and all and yes most schools would want him but I don't see the Florida's, Alabama's or Tennessee's of the world having a scholarship that late in the game. This would, if my logic was true, drive down his bargaining power if he were to wait until after signing day.

...it seems almost every year there is a high profile recruit who holds out his commitment until after signing day.

Some sincerely can't make up their minds; some just like the added attention.

I leave it to you to conclude which category Patterson falls into.
