has any validity to it? If so, let's start throwing money in the kitty immediately

I've heard the $1.2 mill figure, but I've also heard that the $1.2 mill buyout relates to a point in time preceding the LT contract extension and raise.

Anything in the $2 mill range should be doable.

with statements like these on there about him... how can you trust anything they say:

One of the most stunning things to look at in major college football today, is the lack of depth, and even starting quality players on the current Alabama roster, and those problems can be laid right at the feet of Mike Shula. Whatever Shula was doing at Alabama, he was certainly not recruiting at the level of the other top coaches in the SEC, and it should be obvious to Alabama fans everywhere that the hiring of Shula over Croom was just another disastrous decision by the powers-to-be in Tuscaloosa.
It is impossible to know if Sly Croom would have returned Alabama to the top of the SEC and college football, but with 2 wins over Alabama in the last two seasons at Mississippi State, Croom has made the people doing the hiring in Tuscaloosa look like fools.
Yeaaaaaaaaa Riiiiggggggggghhht

One thing we have noticed among ourselves and others in the past 4 years, is that it is very easy to underestimate Sylvester Croom
I agree. Just when you think he has done the most ignorant thing a coach can do... he tops himself. That is what they are talking about right?

but once you get to meet Coach Croom and watch his team play in person, your view of him as a man, a coach, and his team is changed forever.
It damn sure is. Damn sure.

You bet your *** we would.

getting paid less than our fat walrus that punts from the 30 and goes for it on 4th and 15 that would at least think about looking our way as their next job.

That's assuming we are maxed out at coach's salary too, which is unlikely given the espn contract.

.....believe how many coaches, many of them proven winners, who are either making considerably less than Crxxm or barely making more. Maybe it's a product of the lack of competitive salaries in their conferences when compared to the SEC, but it doesn't change the likely fact that MSU could snatch up one of those coaches when many of them could damn near double their salary.
