So im at the game saturday and these 2 african american men are sitting next to me, not making any problems for anybody, and all of a sudden the police come and arrest the two men for possesion of alcohol. Now, i didnt really think anything of it because rules are rules, but after the game i found out from a friend who was in the club level that they have full fledged bars in there with as much alcohol as you can drink. I realize that the people who own those boxes pay alot of money to sit in there, but the rules are no alcohol in the stadium so i just kind of assume thats what it meant; Not no alchol in the stadium if you make less than $100,000 a year.

So are you saying we're racist, or elitist, or both?

For the record, I've never seen anyone arrested for possession of alcohol on Mississippi State campus. And I've seen people acting a damned fool. I've seen people get escorted away, but never arrested. I doubt you did either, unless you saw handcuffs.

The University hasnothingto do with providing alcohol in the club level or boxes. In club level you have a locker that you can stock the day before the game, but are not allowed to bringalcoholon game day. Not sure where your friend was sitting but from your description, it sure as hell wasn't in our stadium.

What a coincidence! I was in Oxford and these two kluckers are sitting next to me, not making any problems for anybody, and all of a sudden the police come and take them to the field and cheerleaders started worshipping these fellows in their nice white sheets.

cause this white boy has had his liquor taken up many of times inside Davis Wade. I don't think they discriminate when it comes to confiscating liqour.

hell, I was there for the La Tech game- and I walked around campus, I smiled at the number of tents that had black families drinking and firing up the grill. It made me smile to think how far we had come as a school, and as a state.<div>
</div><div>Officer Friendly didnt just walk up for no reason. Either something took place, or this story is completely made up. And 90% of the people I've seen escorted out of games over the years have been white as Larry Bird.</div>

White as Larry Bird? You must be sitting in the Irish American section. I bet those folks got sunburned on Saturday.

The boxes are not private property and are subject to the same restrictions on alcohol as any other location on campus. The no alcohol policy is just ignored because those folks cut the big checks and they usually aren't going to act a fool and cause trouble. As you know, it's the same deal for us in the stands: don't cause trouble, be discreet, and enjoy your libations and the game.

...and here's why I say that. At the LA Tech game my friend got SHITFACED and started puking in the stands... we couldn't move him so eventually the cops come and 'escort' him out. They originally said they were arresting him for public intoxication but they ended up showing some leniency and as of today he has yet to receive so much as a ticket for the incident.
Here's a link to a detailed description of the entire debacle, which I wrote about in my blog (yeah yeah, shameless self-promotion, blah blah):

http://houseofhooch.blogs...html?zx=aae5b5ae81979442

...and also, they don't have bars in club level. They have soda fountains and buffets, but you have to stock your locker with your alcohol before game day. It's more of a 'look the other way' type thing at club level, and people are expected to conduct themselves accordingly.... "Act like you've been there before" sorta thing...

Edited to add: I agree with what others are saying, there either had to be something occur you didn't see, or you're blowing things outta proportion, because my friend was painting the concrete with his innards and did not get arrested.

since I don't use the bong bar. My wife won't let me use the Chi O room either. I miss the Larry Templeton massages--Stricklin just doesn't get deep enough into the muscles. The free speeding on the way home card is pretty cool.<div>

MSU is the most cultured school in the State by FAR. As a fanbase, we are less judgemental, open to people of all cultures and inclusive by nature. This is why your post doesn't make sense. As a fanbase, anyone standing around would have stood up for this racial unjustice if it actually happened the way you described.

That's the biggest ******** story posted on here for some time. Your trolling *** is sitting here telling us that security spotted two guys, out of 55k+, sneaking a drink and they were arrested for it? I don't know what you are trying to start here ******* but you can sell that **** somewhere else.

There isn't any bars in the club level or suites, so you can try again with something that isn't so obviously an outright lie.

If the cops walk up and arrest anyone in the stands, it's not for drinking. It's for something that is at least on the level of disorderly conduct. And even that more than likely just gets you thrown out unless you get physical with someone.

.

So Tyrone, or whoever you are trying to stir up ****, we fully understand times are tough for recruiting. But this is a little early to be printing stuff off of message boards. Use a Forward rebel ad instead.

Edit: oh and for you guys in club, if you tell the guy in the elevator the super secret phrase of " I've seen lines move faster through your mothers bedroom" he will show you the secret handshake to get into the private Delta Delta Delta peep show room.

know how that came about. Did the legislature pass a new a new statute allowing this or was there a change with ABC or on some other agency level?

Do you know if the legislature made this change or was it done somehow administratively within ABC? I recall a few eyars ago this issue came up with the Riley Center in Meridian serving wine and beer at performances and something was worked out for that. Perhaps that is when the box matter was addressed as well. But I don't know specifically how it was handled. I do remember when the boxes were first opened that several friends joked about how they were going to sneak liquor and beer into their box.
