I believe Byrne got rid of it. I hated that thing.
It definitely never made it to the Mullen era. I know Croom had a big white one we ran through and Jackie had the interlocking MSU before that.
Granted it was the 90’s and 2000’s but still high school-ish of us. Only thing worse would’ve been running through a big white canvas that the cheerleaders painted.

I want inflatable helmet, smoke, pyro, cannons, flyovers, parachuters, bully on a doghouse with wheels and Bad to the Bone blaring.

I was just talking about this with some friends. In my mind, I can still hear engine overhead. Sounded like it was powered by a wound up rubber band!
Hire me as President. I was #3 in the 4-ship formation of F-4s about 25-30 years ago that is still occasionally mentioned here on SixPack sometimes. We’d have to do it a little higher now now because of the Jumbotrons on the north and south ends. It was fun and I’m told that in the stadium that day it made a big impression.
This is what we need to run under while playing that AC/DC classic. (Young guys can find it on the youtubes)
The only good thing about it is that it would have softened the fall whenever players might have tripped on their way out of the tunnel.
Was this the group that came over hauling *** about 200 feet above the stadium? Those guys scared the hell out of everyone and it was awesome.

I think we were probably only doing about 400 but I didn’t have time to look at the airspeed indicator because I was concentrating on flying good position off of the lead aircraft.
That’s how we rolled.
The F-4 flyover at the Navy game was the best damn thing I have ever seen… and I was in the top row and swear I saw the pilot laughing when he hit the afterburner. Low & Loud.
If you could see the pilot’s face it must have been the Blue Angels or the Thunderbirds - they’re the only ones that fly with boom mikes instead of oxygen masks since they don’t fly high enough for a long enough time to need them during exhibitions.
Was that long ago enough that they were flying F-4s? At one point in time, both (Air Force and Navy) air demonstration teams flew F-4s.
Here’s a picture of both teams back in the day when they were both flying Phantoms. The General Electric J-79 engines in all U. S. Phantoms made plenty of noise. We called it The Sound of Freedom.
That’s remarkable, though, that you had enough time to see the pilot smile a few hundred feet away in an aircraft doing 300-400 miles per hour. You attention to detail is exceptional.
