It was awesome. For those who didn't see... Basically, a shadowy figure comes out of the shadows in a football uniform. Takes his helmet off, it's Holder. He says "time to close this game out".

The uniform was also #14. After the spot, they cut to a live shot of Holder sitting in the stands. The whole bit was straight-up awesome.

It was awesome. And as an aside, the video board was an overall success today. I thoroughly enjoyed the Dillon Day et al long hair video.

Video board was much improved. Still a few too many crowd killing adds but at least we are taking steps forward instead of back.

There are ways to put in ads without killing the crowd. I thought the Bank First Cowbell Cam was brilliant. More of that, less "oh lord... Won't you buy me... A Mercedes Benz"-- nothing against the song, but not for a football game.

It was tough to tell. The board's crowd killing effects may be more noticeable in a game where the crowd isn't already killed by an opponent that's hard to get up for. I thought they did well though. There was nothing on there today that was too overwhelming.

Bullock Toyota should not be allowed to run ads during the game. Period. Worst ad, by far. Mercedes is a close second.

The ads have gotten better. At least it's not 3 or 4 back to back where Mullen talks about an apartment complex, followed by Meagan advertising some clothes, then goes back to Mullen for a Carl Hogan spot. But we are moving in the right direction.

I think the direction of in-game advertising should go towards incorporating crowd involvement. The cowbell ad was great, the kiss cam, the MS Blood Services Shuffle... things like that involve the crowd in some capacity... those don't kill excitement at all. Commercials do. We should mandate that any ad that does not feature crowd involvement cannot run during the game (timeouts, after scores, etc.). Professional venues do much more of this, BTW.

I would not complain if Delois Price shows up on the screen, though...
