I know this might get locked, but it has been weighing heavily on me for the last day. I went out to eat last night with my family, and I looked around me, and
I saw a restaurant full of potential racists. That's the reality of living in the South. And I began to wonder how many of these potential racists would
oppose an African-American coach (like Sylvester Croom) just because he is an African-American. The posts yesterday about JSU confirmed this. I know that many
of you have decent reasons for opposing Sylvester Croom (e.g. Coach34), but a lot of the Croom hatred on this board comes from racist anxiety. Just try to be
more open minded when you're posting about college football.

You can't possibly be serious with this drivel. Three dreadful losing seasons, one good season (record-wise), and another season that appears to be heading towards a woeful losing record. How race can possibly be interjected as a reason for Croom hatred is beyond comprehension. Furthermore, drawing that conclusion based on a thread about playing JSU and the veiled sentiments of a few posters is beyond assinine.

I hated Lynn Amadee and Bruce Arians. I loved Darryl Wilson and Jerious Norwood. Todd Jordan, Blake McAdams, and John Michael Marlin sucked. Dampier, Keffer McGee, and Nakia Greer were some of my favorites. Does that mean I hate white people? No. It is about results, not skin color.

The "record" is the dumbest argument in the book. We put Sly Croom in an impossible situation, and that's a travesty. He only took the job because he's a good man and he knew what success could do to change the minds of a bunch of southern racists with "win quick but wrong" mentalities. Don't forget to cut a hole in your bedsheet for your wiener at your KKK gay rape parties, ***

if you really believe this then you have taken the media crap hook line and sinker. he came here for a paycheck, to run a program the way he sees fit, and to win. he is only doing 2 of the 3 consistently at this point. to think he "only" came here because he is being benevolent and a steward of society is absolutely crazy.

That's the most idiotic statement I've read in a while. You don't think that the $1 million per year had anything to do with it? Is college football so important in the scheme of things that a successful black coach could change the minds of members of the KKK?and because someone thinks that Croom sucks as a coach they are in the KKK? Talk about narrow mindedness.

No, people who disagree with me are in the KKK because they're racists. They hate Croom because they're racists. They don't think people of other races can succeed because they're racists. That's the bottom line. College football can prove to these people that racism is wrong because people love Mississippi State more than they hate people of different races.
