All season, I have observed that we pretty much do as Adam Frazier Does. When he is hot at the plate, we win.

In losses, he's batting .229.
In wins, .401

He was very impatient last night with an O-fer, and the rest of the team followed suit. I'm sure part of it is attributed to the quality of pitching, but he's in the position to set the pace, and we need him to get on base and not just swing at everything.

Just for curiosity's sake - and I don't expect you to look this up - but what is everyone else's BA when we lose. I would expect it to be the same.

I do agree with your basic point - he kind of sets the tone for the team.

It wasn't meant to be snarky. Just that in losses - I would expect everyone to do worse.

But like I said - I agreed with his point. I kind of take that approach as a fan. If Frazier is struggling to reach base, our whole team might struggle.

Along those lines... I want to know our record when he gets on base in his first at bat an when he doesn't. We were talking about this... I don't have the luxury of numbers surfing at work... Maybe someone could help me out?

That's why I said part of it is attributed to the quality of pitching.

Someone else can run the numbers, but I don't think you will find a .172 point difference in the team batting average when comparing wins and losses.

We are 27-2 when Frazier reaches base to start the game (26 hits, 1 walk). That means we are 24-17 when he doesn't.

I don't know about everyone else but that's a fairly significant stat. We are almost undefeated when he reaches first during the first at bat and not much over .6 when he doesn't. Frazier really does set the tone.

As far as the team average goes...
In wins: .315
In losses: .240

Feels that way, and apparently the stats back it up.

Rea's is even a bigger disparity.
In wins, his avg is .369.
In losses, his avg is .143.
