I'm fully aware we can't be kicked out of the SEC, but there's nothing stopping a mass exodus of the revenue producers of the SEC from withdrawing and forming a new conference with other revenue generators. At least, I don't think there is?

And the ACC wants to keep these teams at 17mil/yr? Good luck with that...

IMO no team will ever leave the SEC while we're on top nationally, in perception, reality, and money. The grass isn't always greener... and that's how Texas almost killed the Big 12.

After this is said and done, how many other states will be pulling down as much TV revenue for their college athletics as Mississippi? Much less with a total population of ~3 mil? Can't imagine another state coming close in $ per capita other than maybe Alabama.

I'm not even including USM, and the $11.50/year they get as part of the CUSA TV deal. Let's just hope it stays like it is for a long time, and we can continue to cash those SEC welfare checks.

I would imagine it will include 2 of the following three:

Va Tech
NC State
Clemson

Everyone says the next schools will come from states w/o an SEC school currently, but I think Clemson still fits the bill.

A school can be kicked out of the SEC by a 75% vote. It'll never happen, but it technically could.

Maybe not $35M-$40M, but it'll be $30M-$35M when the SEC Network goes live. And it will be close to $25M this fall.

I think Texas got a reality check when they got turned down by the PAC-12 and now realize that their best option is to give up a little money (a little) to keep the Big 12 going. </p>

That's not very long to put together a TV network. We'll still get $25M per year per team in the interim, then it will go up with the new network.

devoted to sec athletics since the SEC reign as national champions. There are people nationally that wouldn't watch anything other than that on fall saturdays. Good luck competing against those ratings. Maybe not in the NE or West coast, but everywhere else ratings would be awesome. It would be a great outlet to be able to watch SEC games all the time....which is all I care about anyways.
