I liked it. Frankly I liked that they didn't dwell on "the other side", but explained it in a manner that made it work for the show.

Or left it vague enough that people could surmise that she was FOS and never went through with that silly machine.

Edit: I guess I liked it well enough, but boy was Season 3 an awesome journey leading up to the finale.
