I’m excited about the win in a short term way. It’s always more fun to win. Tomorrow I’ll worry about the program’s future.

Much needed win that significantly bumps up our tourney resume. Q1 wins are huge. I gained a lot of respect for Oweh this game, and I've been on the Malachi train since Day 1.

Way for Aberdeen to step up and hit those 3s. I made a thread about Lowe being irrelevant to the progress of this team, and looks like I was right. I don't believe at all we are "better" with Lowe out there, disagree all you want, IDGAF. None of those pivotal 3s would have happened with him on the court. That stretch with him and Oweh draining 3s had the feel of one of last year's comebacks.

Credit to coach for the play call (he's back to "coach" now). And BIG BALLS on Malachi to execute. That kid is special.

Hating on this win is just the wrong take. This is a Q1 conference road win. Just huge for the resume. The MSST game was useless/ inconsequential. This game was the opposite.

What’s the point of making the tourney if you have no realistic chance of making noise? This is what I’m talking about when I compare our current fanbase to IU. We want to either win titles or be in contention to do so - not be content with simply making tournament.

The Steelers just fired a guy who hadn’t has a losing season for a long time. But he also lost seven consecutive playoff games. Steelers fans wanted him out a long time ago, but he did just enough to survive. I don’t want Pope to survive. I want him to keep losing badly and be shown the door.

At what point did I say I was content with just making the tournament?

There's only one thing worse than making the tournament and promptly losing and that's not making the tournament at all. We can’t know for certain whether Pope would be shown the door. But we are, collectively, almost certain that Pope isn’t up to the task of coaching UK. There’s this assumption that he’ll be ousted after year three. Well, if he sneaks into the tournament and wins two games again, it’ll be more difficult to get rid of him even after year three.

So the real question is are we good with a dude who takes a team to the tourney that has no chance to win year in and year out (sometimes narrowly)? Or would we prefer to have a coach who can build contenders? I want the latter and the more Pope fails, the sooner we get there.

Cry more. He's getting a third year. We may not like it but I also don't like paying taxes. We should have hired pearl when cal left but we didn't.

Didn’t watch a single second of the game. Checked the score around halftime and it was about what I figured. Just now saw that we won and how. I smiled when I saw the replay but my excitement level never got higher than a 4 out of 10. These last 5+ years of Kentucky basketball has just worn me down to almost total apathy. Throw in how football has sucked as well and it’s a small miracle I even still care about UK at all.

I will always take a UK win. We got very lucky in that game to even have the chance for Moreno to hit the shot. Moreno was lucky for a no call when he fouled an LSU player with a couple minutes left. Oweh was lucky to get a call on the last drive when he jumped into a vertical LSU player. We were lucky the LSU player fouled on the rebound missed both free throws. Still happy for a win, but we did not outplay LSU

In the 90’s Kentucky went into Baton Rouge and found themselves down by 30. They came back in second half and won. I don’t know if anyone one here remembers but just maybe this team will now get jumpstarted and go on to bigger and better basketball.

I absolutely didn’t. I watched AEW Dynamite and then Prison Break. I’ve reached the point where I just watch a game if I expect a loss. No use putting myself through 2 hours of anger. If they win then I’ll go back and watch the replay when I get time.

The last 7-8 years has really worn away at my love for UK basketball. I would have never believed that I could feel like way about the program but here we are.
