Pretty silly to have Sacramento State in the MAC and Northern Illinois in the Mountain West.
I mean in fairness Sacramento is closer to Middle America than Stanford or Cal are to the Atlantic Coast. ***
UMass - Sac State
Cal - Boston College
UCLA - Rutgers
These are all conference games.
What are we doing
Can you imagine a weekend volleyball match with UCLA at Rutgers? 2500 miles one way for a girls volleyball match?......plus all the other 3rd world sports in the league. Heck, the SEC ought to go get Washington State, Oregon State, and Hawaii to join. At least that would give us a few teams we can compete with vs getting Clemson and FSU.

Crazy. I can kind of understand the Big 10 although I still think adding Rutgers & Maryland was a mistake. And maybe the ACC even though that was probably an unnecessary panic move. But the G6 should all absolutely work out a mass merger/alliance & split up geographically.
Yea, the G6 has no business doing this. Football and to a lesser extent men’s basketball profits can justify a lot of things, but what in the hell can justify Sacramento state having a cross country trip for half its conference football games? What is the MAC’s TV share for football? $5M?
They just have to travel across the landmass between Indiana and Palm Springs
