That's not the point. Point is they could easily gouge patrons like everyone else does but they choose not to.

It is what is it...if you go to the Masters to chest bump over a pimento cheese sandwich for a couple of bucks, then find a new gig.

Are there only two missing Master Champs still living missing? Jackie Burke Jr and Angel Cabrera?

I had not seen Phil M since he lost a ton of weight, personally, I think he does not look well, and his game is awful. Sounds like he was not himself last night as well. My guess is that he has had some second thoughts about the LIV deal, Golf Channel last night was wearing him out, saying they could understand some other guys taking the money, but Phil already had it all, would have been a natural choice on TV, eventual Masters starter, and celebrated as one of the game's great champions. Now, what will be his legacy, especially if LIV goes down the tubes (which I fully expect to happen)?

Reworking "A River Runs Through It" for The Masters:

Like many golfer in western Georgia where the summer days are almost Sahara in length, I often do not start golfing until the cool of the evening. Then in the spring half-light of the Azaleas, all existence fades to a being with my soul and memories and the sounds of Rae's Creek and a four-stroke lead and the hope that the wind will not rise. Eventually, all things merge into one, and a creek runs through it. The creek was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of those rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs. I am haunted by The Masters.

Insane that Tiger only won $486,000 in 1997. This year's winner earns 2.7 million, which was the entire purse from '97.

Patrick Reed winning would stink The Masters up like never before. Guys like him flirting with victory would send social media over the top.

Kevin Na is off to a nightmare start... some Irish amateur is -2 after 4 and is playing very impressively.

Did my usual sign up for ESPN+ which I will promptly cancel after the Masters as I hate giving Dukespn my money.

This Irish Amateur Matthew McClean looks like he should be Shane Lowry's kid.

5 got him. Back down to -1.

Sam Burns is my pick to win. Another young gun who seems due to win his first major.

I always thought it was in this order in ranking the majors?

1. Masters
2. US Open
3. British
4. PGA

Gordon Sargent grew up a couple streets over from us- and in a few years has gone from *really* good to *really f'ing* good. He missed some opportunities when junior events were canceled during covid but seems to be a household name for those who follow the amateur/college ranks. Also he apparently was mistaken for one of the kids from the Drive, Chip, Putt competition.

Also- if you have a chance to check out Sam Bennett's story about his journey and his dad, its pretty amazing. Tear-jerker for sure so be prepared for that.

McClean is a cool customer and has sank a couple big putts. I guess 29yo Irish Amateurs would be.

Never get tired of watching Couples golf swing. Just effortless and still hits it pretty far off the tee.

Not really crazy at all, that’s only 7 percent growth. Above historical inflation but below historical stock returns.

Sadly true. Dude looks like a skeleton now and seems like he's aged 30 years over the last year.

No way Tiger makes the cut. Watching his practice swings the guy looks like he can barely walk.

Phil ran into money and legal problems so he might not have been doing as good as some people think. He may have gotten mixed up with the kind of guys that break your legs over gambling debts so who knows. From what I gather Phil almost went to jail and may have a serious gambling problem.
