Insane that Tiger only won $486,000 in 1997. This year's winner earns 2.7 million, which was the entire purse from '97.
Tour players today should bow down and kiss his rear end because their lavish lifestyles from these insane purses and endorsement deals are because of him much Like Arnold did for his generation and players after him.

Phil ran into money and legal problems so he might not have been doing as good as some people think. He may have gotten mixed up with the kind of guys that break your legs over gambling debts so who knows. From what I gather Phil almost went to jail and may have a serious gambling problem.
If true, you could certainly understand why he took the LIV deal to help pay off his debts.

Dress code seems to have relaxed at The Masters as there's a couple of wild print shirts out there this morning. No idea what Kokrak has on.

I see McClean has faded already.

Go to Masters.com and click on "Featured groups" to watch Tiger's complete round. He's teeing off right NOW.

That's why I was wondering about why they would be talking about how much money he is rolling in on the Golf Channel as Phil has been through some tough stuff and piling on him for LIV is cruel. The man literally was over a barrel.

I'll never understand how a pro hits it into the creek off the tee on 12? I might hit it into the creek coming back to the green off the side of that hill on my 2nd, but I am clearing the creek off the tee.

I know Tiger is picking his spots to play, but you can't go 6-8 weeks and not tee it up in a tour event and then expect to play well/contend in a major.

Wow Tiger nearly chips in for eagle on 8. He needed that big time. Tap in birdie.

Out of every 6 people that successfully summit Everest 1 must die in the attempt.

Augusta National demands her victims as well and they are accumulating.

Tough ask to finish the tournament on Sunday with the weather expected. Could be looking at a Monday finish.

Brooks/LIV at the top of the leaderboard and Rory doing live MIC in between shots. Now who is the clown?

Is it just me or is Steve Sands the most annoying announcer in golf. Such a drama queen. Almost have to mute when he is on. Watching Live at the Masters and he is insufferable.
Guess you haven’t been exposed to Mike minutiae Tirico. He’s absolutely the worst ever.

Golf is very similar to baseball as a spectator sport. It takes time for the drama to build and then incrementally as the conclusion draws near it really ratchets the pressure up until, in those special moments, it is almost unbearable.

I think the people that hate to watch golf have almost all tried to watch it in the early rounds like today when the coverage is jumping around from shot to shot and it hasn't had time to build a narrative and create drama between the players that will decide it.

Like watching the first couple innings of a baseball game instead of the last few of a tight game.

Koepka with an eagle to get to 10 under. The only thing that will stop him is the weather, and it just might stop him.

Streaming ESPN+ featured groups on the 55 inch Sony and it's crystal clear. TV technology is awesome.

Koepka vs. Day or Speith on the back nine Sunday would be good TV.

Go Brooks Go!! Would love to see the madness that would ensue. Could you imagine if a LIV guy won all 4 majors šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚
Would be fantastic after Monohan and Rory trying to act like they are holier than thou all last year.
Guarantee Jay has some dark skeletons. Can tell just by looking at him.

I think it would bring ratings/interest but at the same time cbs would prob not be happy to see a liv guy win

I don't see how they play at all tomorrow from looking at the Augusta hourly forecast on weather.com.

You can watch the rest of Scheffler's career and you'll never see him this flustered again. He may play as bad, but this is pretty much full tilt for Scottie. It's not just the course or that he's playing bad, I think for him to be the world #1 and have this amateur out there kicking his arse is messing with him a little bit, too.

Gonna need Brooks to put it in the water over the next couple of rounds or nobody is catching him.

Maybe the PGA will become a feeder league for LIV? LOL.
