this was a quote that was attributed to Cam Newton in a supposed conversation with either the Mullens or some MSU recruiter when talking about why his Father chose Auburn for him. Could someone remind me what or who the source of the reporting was for this comment and if there was ever any validation of it? Would seem to be the only thing out there where there was apparently some admission by anyone that a money exchange had taken place or was going to take place in the Cam Newton affair with Auburn. And I guess even if this was said nobody knows if it was a "bag man" drop, donation through Cecil's church or even large business contracts given to Cecil's trucking company.

I was thinking it might have been Shad. If I remember supposedly the person Cam told that to was Megan Mullen.

Doubt it.

I'm still burned about the whole "Auburns in the clear" thing. I'd love for some of our people to come forward and say that the NCAA never interviewed them. I'd love to know if the NCAA even interviewed Megan, Dan, Stricklin, Byrne and Bond.

I anticipate confirmation will come when mullens writes his book later in life.

And I will forever be convinced that the proof the ncaa needed could have come from mullens, mrs. mullens, John Bond and roofer man. But the risk that state would get hammered was off the charts. Mutually assured destruction indeed.

-The University of Auburn is now considered a "big Boy". They NEVER got away with anything back in the old days.<div>
