The more I think about Bowden,

the more it seems like it might not be a bad hire. Probably not my first choice, but if you look at it closely, the guy recruits very well (yeah, I know clemson) and he won at tulane (has anyone else done that?). Also, clemson seemed to have some real head cases on that team and we all know how that can override talent. I think he had alot to deal with at clemson and probably got somewhat of a raw deal.

Seriously, you're done with MSU if we hire Tommy Bowden? That is stupid. State will hire the best coach available if that is Tommy Bowden then so be it. I don't think Tommy Bowden is someone that is so terrible as to warrant your threat...

All the bitching about possible candidates is ridiculous - We can't hire someone that will please everyone.

get a clue, dipshit. We can, and HAVE done a lot worse than hiring a guy like Tommy Bowden.

I feel your pain, but if Byrne hires Bower, Blanty, Fulmer, or West, then I am done. Bowden won everywhere he went, 12-0 at Tulane think about that. He won every year at Clemson! Folks don't realize that Danny Ford ruined Clemson, before him they were an after thought, and since then there fan base expects NC's. The most dissappointing thing about Bowden at Clemson was his lack of ACC championships, but FSU was very good his first couple of years, and he contended every year he was there. Could we do better? Yes, but we could also do worse. From the talk over there at the Junction it doesn't appear that Bowden is in our future any way.

Doesn't look too much like a lateral move for us to me. Bowden isn't at the top of my list, but I'd be OK with hiring him.

I have to wonder why, if he was byrne's primary target, byrne hired neinas? You don't need a mercenary to get access to an out of work retread. Nope. I think byrne is after a bigger splash. And for that, you have to assume byrne needs neinas to do the velvet hammer.

TB lost regularly to the teams that were good, occasionally upset a few.

Past his prime. He lost at Clemson before he left.

Can we please look a coach that is CURRENTLY successful instead of taking hand me downs?

I stated this in another thread. Tommy is gonna bring Jeff Bowden with him, was hated by the fanbase at clemson, never even played for the ACC championship, is 54 years old, and just got fired. I am pretty sure Byrne has got something else in mind.</p>
