It has been awhile since there were this many truly strong teams out there even though all the departures left the West alot weaker (Good for L.A.).

Lakers- Kobe, Gasol, Artest, Odom
Heat - James, Bosh, Wade, Miller
Celtics - Rondo, Allen, Pierce, Garnett
Bulls - Rose, Boozer, Noah, Deng
Magic - Howard, Nelson, Lewis, Carter

It is definitely not a given that the Heat are going to roll these teams.</p>

that CP3 and Carmelo Anthony are wanting to demand trades to the Knicks so they can play with Amare and provide the Heat with some more competiton in the East.

The Bulls arent a legitimate threat to the Heat. Hell the Hawks will be as good as the Bulls.

If Stoudemire and Anthony decide to play consistent defense then that could be a real contender with a legit point guard, a good wing man, and an inside presence.

(although I admit I didnt click on that many LeBron threads when it was all going down) is what this will mean for Kobe if he takes down the triumvirate. I am not a big Kobe fan, but if he wins another championship, particularly by beating this Miami team, he might leapfrog Jordan and permanently force King James out of the picture. James and Wade have given him the opportunity to become a legend by beating their team. On the flip side, if James/Wade/Bosh win, that is what they were supposed to do, they are a super team.

it would put him on par with Jordan. If it's a Heat/Laker final and the Lakers win, Kobe would become arguably the best player ever in the NBA.

But I agree. I don't think Kobe would necessarily pass Jordan but he would be about 3 feet off his bumper.
