Minnesota got shut out by Northwestern, barely got by Kent State and barely beat Ohio. They hung tough against TCU in game 1, but they have been regressing. Nebraska has been very hard to figure out. I am not ready to pencil this in as a win or a loss. It is winnable by either team.

Was really hoping for Nebraska to loose. They have talent. It takes time for a team with a new coaching staff to get it figured out and get going. Had hoped we played them with no hope or bowl trip possible. Teams can start to mail it in, especially on the road. They could turn it around in a hurry. Ugh!

After the Army, Maryland games I think Nebraska is the most winnable. I think Wisconsin's defense is going to be formidable to go up against. Nebraska not so much, plus despite yesterday's performance I still think Riley is square peg round hole, especially with Armstrong as his qb. I think they definitely show flashes where they hum as an offense but also lots of times where they sputter...inconsistent. Game is at home too.

Nebraska blows. They beat a pathetic Minnesota (why did they bother spending money on that stadium? Sad. I give them credit for trying, though) . Nebrask should be regretting firing Bo.

If we don't beat them, it will be very disappointing.

Steve Longa might get 20 tackles against Nebraska. We match up well with them. We win our last 3 and storm into the Bowl season !

Nebraska D is giving up more yards per game then we are. Ponder that one.
Yup and that's part of the reason I think they're more winnable than Wisconsin. We're also at home.

I didn't like the Riley hire but he still hasn't finished his first year so who knows. Can't write the book on him yet but I'm doubtful he'll do better than Pelini. At best I think he'll match him and more likely will do worse. Have to give him a chance to get his pieces in place though.

Minnesota seems to be as much of an enigma as Nebraska. I've been rooting for the Cornhuskers to lose in each game as a reward for firing a winning coach so I was sad to see them win yesterday. Hoping RU can get a win over them in November.

I don;t think Riley is a bad coach, but it was definitely a square peg into a round hole kinda hire. They brought in a guy who runs a pro style offense when they have personnel for a spread option. Kinda mind boggling.

Nope. Nebraska is before MD. Even if we lose the next three, that game will be meaningful, even if just for the die hards

Well I don't mind changing styles in general but Nebraska just reminds me of tough hard nosed defense and run the ball power football. It's just so ingrained to who they've been for so long is what makes me say square peg round hole. It doesn't mean you can't eventually change the shapes to fit.

Riley is more "finesse" type football. I don't have an issue with changing but is Riley the best guy to implement that change? I don't know maybe but the complete change along with getting rid of a pretty successful coach just was weird to me. To be fair you have to give him time but like I said I have hard time seeing him do better than Pelini, at best it's even and more likely it's worse.

We have a nationally televised home game against the #1 team in the country and first ever road trips to 2 of the great venues in college football. I'm no fan of the " lets go 1-0 this week" crap but seriously, your talking about the Nebraska game 4 weeks from now?

Everyone is poo pooing Nebraska. They're forgetting that they've played a very tough schedule and their losses have been last minute affairs. They're much better than their record would indicate.

I don't think I'm poo pooing anything. They're a capable team who have shown flashes of being good on offense and having things hum but they've also sputtered mightily at times. I don't think it's taking them lightly at all to say after Army/Maryland they're the most winnable game IMO. It doesn't mean we'll win but just talking probabilities with respect to the games left.

As far as talking Nebraska, do we have a lot of aliases for Tony Soprano out there? We're fans what do we need to focus on? There are threads talking about OSU if you want to talk about them or start some new ones and discuss them. I've participated in some of those as well. If you don't want to talk about Nebraska then don't open the thread or post in it. I do it all the time for threads I have no interest in.
