Bernie, thanks for sharing that anecdote about the road of no joy past the French soldiers' graveyard where people saw ghosts. That's interesting for sure. I believe there is video easily findable of the Highway of Death out of Kuwait in February, 1991. I won't describe it here, but driving it was shocking and stays with me to this day.

Big win for the Cats last night. I'm just going to enjoy them as they happen. It was fun to see a "reverse Laettner" unfold. Degree of difficulty might have been greater - LSU guarded the inbound and the guy guarding Moreno was loger than Feldhaus or Pelphrey.

This Kentucky team isn't very good, and I doubt the ceiling is much higher than we've seen already. Better teams are probably going to not have much trouble with the Cats. But we can still celebrate a little magic.

Hope you all have a great day.
Yeah I drove past Phu Bai a few times. There were more graves than I have ever seen. I thought we would never get past them. Small white crosses as far as the eye could see. They called it the valley of the dead. People don't realize how long the Vietnamese people were at war.

Good morning from ATX.

Glad Cats won. Watched first half.

Took wife again to ER last night during 2nd half. Staff ran CT scan and took X-rays. She complained about constant pain. Tests revealed cancer apparently spread to other areas.

Must still visit FL for a mandatory real-estate transaction. Visiting 17-24 Jan. She has a friend who will stay with her while we line up more chemo and other treatments. I will probably cancel trips to Marfa and Salado scheduled for next month and March.

Y'all have a good one.
Really sorry about your wife Austin, you and your wife are in my prayers.

Good morning everyone, what a great finish to a game that had many peaks and valleys. It's 20 degrees here in G Town with a wind chill of 8.Cold weather looks like it's going to set in for awhile and possibly some snow to come with it.Winter is awesome, we all are so blessed.I hope that all of you have a wonderful day and be safe out there.

Prayers up for your wife and you too!

Can we stop collecting data in the first half of games and worry about building a lead? Thanks I'll hang up and listen.

Good morning (barely) everyone

We got some black ice and snow on the mountain so staying home today. Just finishing up my workout....trying to hang in there as long as I can.

Unbelievable how this team plays in the 2nd half of the game vs 1st. It may have been the worst 12 minutes I've ever seen UK play. What to do???? I'd be tempted to just say play as hard as you can on the D side (press, etc. )and shoot it as soon as you're open for the first 4 minutes and go from there. Easy if it works, farhh coach if it doesn't. lol

Anyway, 2nd half looked great. Many players stepped up. Moreno!!!! Exceeded my expectations so much he may become my favorite player in decades. Hope he stays.

Good morning D League. Thanks for sharing that today is National Fig Newton day Austin. Did you ever hear of Fig Newton's law of gravity? It holds that if you drop a cookie, a cat or dog will lick it b efore you can pick it up. (I just made that up, but it is true, nevertheless.)

Cold and clear in the east. I've resumed my running after a long break to rehab my knee. One mile today. I hope to slowly build back up to the four miles, three times a week that I was running last fall before my knee shut me down. How likely? I'd say not very. But we'll see.

Glad it is Friday, and glad not be be traveling or have a house guest for the first weekend in a while. I may take the subway into DC to spend time at the Smithsonian. Always something there to hold my attention. I hope it is a good weekend for all of you.

Good morning everyone.

I've got to do a few things this morning in order to be ready to watch the game. Who knows....maybe today is the day we figure out how to play an entire game. Whenever you figure out the problem you have an opportunity to fix it. Right???? I try to be positive, but if they come out and lay an egg again the first 10 minutes.....grrrrrrrr.

I hope everyone has a great day. Prayers for those here in need.

Good morning folks.

Happy Saturday. Hoping for a fun, peaceful weekend, despite making a rookie husband mistake last night. Watching TV with my wife just before bed time, I noticed something, and said to her, "don't take this the wrong way, but is something different about your hair?" She answers, yes, that she got it cut and colored three days ago. Then she proceeds to tell me how all the people at work immediately noticed and told her how great it looked -- even random patients coming into her hospital. Only one person hadn't noticed. Me. Yikes.

Big test for the Cats today. Tennessee's size is a challenge. It'd be a good day to have the guy paid a couple million dollars to rehab through early January to be ready for moments like this. But QUaintance is out again (still.) Hope for the best, I guess.

Have a great weekend.
