Good morning everyone.

Great morning to be outside. Grabbed a cup of coffee and headed out before daylight. I got to see 3 or 4 rabbits in our family cemetery and heard all the birds waking up. No gobbling from the turkeys yet (at least here). I need to do that more often.

Off to the Doc at UK for my wife in a bit. I'll just sit in the car and catch up on some reading.

Have a nice day.
When finished fishing yesterday, I was leaving the pond and when passing an open field, I saw a flock of turkey. I stopped to count them and from what I could see, there were 35 of them. However, they were at the edge of some trees so, there could have been more.

Yes, they are still in their big flocks right now. They will be breaking up in smaller groups soon. I counted 60 at Lake Cumberland back in early January. It sure makes turkey hunting look easy. lol

Hello All,

Slowing down a bit today... Finally. (Getting to be a habit. Not a good one either...)

Figured I'd share a couple pictures of my supper...

I will state it again... Kings should eat on special occasions like I eat regularly. (Thanks to My Darling...)

This is called Be-Bim-Bop in Korean..

What you see is Rice, Spinach, Bean Sprouts, slightly spicy Turnips, and Beef with an over-easy Egg on top. The oil is sesamee seed oil and the paste is a mild redbean paste that is slightly spicy....

Mix this together and chow....

Did I say I was thankful... ;) I AM....

As Uncle Jed used to say................... Edible...

Edit: I remembered pictures of the bone soup that I promised but it got "ate" before I was around to take any pictures... Had to be away when it was completed... (Will try again next time on that one...)

Edit again: The above is gone.... Not to be forgotten though... ;)

Good morning folks. Up all night with dad dealing with some infection and now trying to work it out to get him an antibiotic without him having to leave the house, which is impossible short of calling an ambulance. Teleconference with doctor, etc.

Big chance for the Cats today. Confidence level low. Have a great day.

Morning, D, we are going to watch the weather today, could be storms! About the antibiotics, they always make me sick at my stomach. I have a good friend who is a doctor, he told me to eat a little bit of yogurt when take my meds, I did what he said, didn't get sick at my stomach at all, good advice!!! I got some stuff called Kefir, strawberry flavor, did about half a glass, put it in the freezer for about an hour, then ate it! Go Cats!!!

Hello all,

Rousing around now. Been playing with the BB. Yeah still cleaning. I have too many items I do not want to get rid of seems to be the issue. Yeah boxes are in place... Going to finish a Lego so I can claim back that room in mine and the BB's office. ;) Me and the BB and "Ama" got to sleep in...

I hope these Cats can come to a place where they succeed. What is success? Winning... Play to win, don't play to just finish the game. Give it all Cats, give it all until you have no more. That is a Michael Jordan type heart.. Yeah, I like Mike... I know these Cats cannot play like Mike but they can attempt to play with the same heart. Finish off with heart Cats, finish it off with heart...

Go Cats!!!

Good morning folks. Back on the road from Kentucky to Maryland soon. It’s going to be a grind. No real sleep since Thursday night.

Sad to have to watch what the Cats have become under Barnhart and Pope. Sat there with my dad and brother in the same room in which we’d watched so many big games back to 1966 when we moved into this house, and it was hard to remember a time we just were numb to watching the Cats.

I guess we’ll just have to trust in better days ahead. You all have a good day.

Be safe MdW,

Yes the Cats hurt. I will leave it at that.

Good morning All,

instead of sitting in my car, I came into the sanctuary. I am thankful. Nothing scheduled today but I do have plenty to do later. I hope all of you are children of God and have a place of worship. If not, find one. Churches are not perfect but the alternative is so very much worse. Been there, done that for a long while but that has been a long while.

God Bless you all and your families….

Morning D-Legionnaires!

Bah, bablah, bah, bablah. The Cat's lost, Bah, bablah. About all I have on that.

Went shopping for a newer used truck yesterday (been looking since last October) and may have found it. 2023 Ford Maverick XLT 2.0L Turbo charged gas engine. Test drove it yesterday and went in to haggle a bit. Original asking price $29,000 down to $25,209. Begs to ask what is wrong, right? Test driving with much more inspection from me tomorrow. I know you will be on the edge of your seats so, stay tuned.

Have a great restful day folks and God Bless.

I was actually looking at one of those too. Not yet but...

Edit: Hello,

Do any of you own a Honda CRV or Pilot? I am looking for a car for My Darling. No rush but wanted to get a larger car than the Camry she has now. (We bought that one in 2015 when we got back from Korea.) That will be my hand-me-down.

I have a 2012 Mazda 3 w/a Syactiv engine. I am selling that outright. (94k) (That was a hand-me-down to me when I got back from Korea.)

Going to tell them no on the truck. While test driving yesterday a warning message AWD Fault Message/Service needed notification came on and the dealership said it was a glitch in the sensor and reset it and it went away. Today, Me and my wife researched problems with this model and found others were experiencing those problems too. Said that their dealerships told them to simply shut off the engine and restart and if it comes up again see your service center. Most said it cleared it, but a few said it did not.

I checked the Carfax on this particular truck and found that last year it went in to be serviced 4 times over 6 months for Powertrain control module (PCM) problems which also include AWD (all-wheel drive). So, unless they can prove to me it can/will be fixed, we are done.

That is probably the reason they came down from $29000 to $23000.

Good morning everyone

I've been pretty busy (for a retired guy) and trying to avoid the negativity of this site. I don't need it. I'll try to stop in and check in on the D-League without clicking on other stuff. That is tough for me to do.

The usual calendar this week but won't be able to squeeze a trip to the lake since the weather will have a downturn.

Vehicle shopping...ugh. I feel for you all.

Enjoy your week and don't forget we have the honor of playing the first game of the tourney Wednesday about noon. lol

Hello All,

Well, this week will be telling,

My Darling has a couple medical appointments. Tomorrow, and Thursday. (Thursday is supposed to be an outpatient procedure.), tomorrow is the bigger concern though both are concerning as tomorrows could turn out to be much more involved and surgically dramatic if you can say it that way. (That would be scheduled)

We are hoping and praying for more locally treatable options versus back and leg sugeries... If you've a mind and the inclination, say a prayer for My Darling.

I have a couple items coming up though I can handle them. I sure wish I could take the treatments My Darling has coing for her but I cannot. All I can do is be there for her and try to keep her semi-comfortable.

I am thankful... God is great and I KNOW that!

Hello folks.

Busy day, catching up with the work that backed up during my Kentucky trip.

The weather is beautiful here. Really feels like spring. My wife and I are planning to go see the cherry blossoms this weekend.

Doesn't feel like "March Madness" this year. Maybe it will later.

Have a great day.

Good morning folks. Mild and ckear in the east. Looks like a very nice day.

I took a long walk this morning —pre-dawn because of the time change. There is a beautiful sunrise now out the left window of my subway train heading south not DC.

Busy day ahead. I hope you all have a good one.

Hello all,

Back for a bit and going again. My Darling so far is okay for the one appointment we had but what happened is, it is being determined that her issues lie with a much larger/ worse area to address. Hopefully alternate treatments will suffice and major surgeries will not be required.

My Darling has another appointment Thursday to have some outpatient work done that I hope will not be painful for her but I know it will be. I sure wish I could take this for her as I have a high tolerance for pain. All I can do is be there. I am thankful but if you've a mind please keep My Darling in prayer...

God Bless you all and your families...

I was thinking on buying a new truck this year..........I have a 2017 F-150 crew cab that had 13K miles on it when I bought it........It now has 71K on it.........I use it to road train my pigeons..........I bought the Director a 23 Ford Explorer in January 2023.........It just turned over 11K miles..........she took four trips to North Carolina or it wouldn't have that many miles.......That is our primary vehicle.......the truck hasn't been started but a couple of times since last Oct..........It is time to start with the pigeon training again........I might wait till the start of summer between flying seasons........I would like to have a truck with the options I would never allow myself to have over the years.......a radio was frivolous, the phone has a GPS......I usually bought a pretty bare vehicle to save money.........decisions......decisions..........as a side note my friend and I took our two Berkshire hogs to the slaughter house.....it is down in Smiths Grove........made me think of Mr. Bert...........sure was a nice guy......It was early but I just had to have one of those BBQ Brisket sandwiches at Buc-ee's..........

First of all, to all needing prayers for loved ones: May God's grace and blessings be upon you and here is to hoping all have less to no pain or suffering.

Went fishing this morning. Left the house at 0700 and got to Rattler Pond at Ft. Sill right at 0730. Ran into the couple I met last week when fishing there. Neither of us even got a bite there this morning so we left. They left before me and I left at 10:30. However, I went to Mannard Pond which is about 15 minutes from Rattler. Started fishing there getting hit (the lure) twice with one actually taking the lure. Pulled in a Largemouth that was almost 3lbs.

Better than last weeks blanking so I will take it. Still, it has been a slow start to the season. But, as the saying goes, A bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work.

Do you mind me asking what kind of lure that you are using? Are they starting to nest?

While I have many types of lures, I mainly use plastics here that I can run weedless. Stick-O-Worms being my favorite but frogs and creatures also do well. It was a frog I caught today's bass on. I run weedless at Ft. Sill because the ponds there are very grassy. I did however throw a Whopper Plopper at them early on.

Yes, I do believe they are nesting which would explain the lack of hooked bass. I felt a few bumps along the way that usually happens when lures hit their nesting spots so, it would suggest that that is what is happening.

Good morning all.

Game Day! I'll watch our game, but realized I don't think I've ever been interested in the "first" day since we'be been on this type format. Oh well, times are changing.

Took the wife to a Doc appointment in Louisville yesterday. 4 hour drive there, 4 hour drive back with no major headaches. She has been gradually improving but has still had about 1 reaction per month to fumes of some sort.

I hope everyone has a great afternoon.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 62°F and cloudy. Rain off and on. We need it.

Off today. Plan on tuning in the game at 11:30 CT this morning.

Got another laptop, Refurbished Dell 5420. Core I7 CPU. 128 mb graphics card, 16 GB RAM. 250 GB SSD. $338 shipped with 3 year protection plan. Purchased through Walmart. Love it. An Asus I purchased last summer is way too slow. Give to granddaughter in a few months.

Go Cats!

Still looking for a small truck for getting around in. Have been looking at Carvana, Car Gurus, and Auto Trader. Hate thinking about buying off of those places (sight unseen unless pictures of course) because you can't test drive until your order. Yeah, I know, I can test drive and send back but that is a hassle. However, prices are better than local because Lawton/Ft. Sill. Dealerships here are higher on their vehicles and always have been because many young soldiers don't have the time or don't want to take the time to search. They just want a vehicle now. Many never had one and now have the money for one.

I can still travel to Texas or OKC and get better prices also and I am looking at those options as well. Have been looking since October last year but have not Liked much of what I have been seeing with newer models and their enhanced electronical problems. The more advanced they get with all of the bells and whistles the more opportunity for malfunctions and higher prices for parts and repairs.

Good morning folks.

This must be the earliest beginning to “March Madness” for Kentucky fans in a long time -the opening game of the SEC tournament as a 9 seed. Maybe the post-Covid year of Cal’s Quitters was the same, I can’t remember.

But it’s a lovely day in the east. Heading in to work on the subway. Won’t be able to watch the game. It’s a very busy time on the job.

I hope over the next few days and weeks the Cats give us a reason to remember this team with something other than disappointment and embarrassment. So, Go Cats!

I thought I'd mention as well. Stay away from the automatic emergency brakes if at all possible. One of my daughters has a 2019 RAV4. That auto-emergency brake went bad and just the parts were $1900.00

Hello all,

Back at it again, been busy today. Actually got a few chips flying so it has been a good day so far.

Tomorrow must take My Darling in the afternoon for some out patient work. All should be okay. I sure wish I could take the pain for My Darling...
I am thankful...

Come on Cats...................................DO something...
