The trailer has gotten a ton of negative reviews, but I think it looks great.

Ledger did such an incredible job it’s hard to see anyone topping it. May be a good movie but the trailers are not making it look like one.
How can that get negative reviews? That looks awesome!
I think many are just overly critical. Ledger did a lengendary performance as the joker but this trailer looked really interesting to me and it takes another spin.
Ledger essentially ****** over every future Joker with his performance. It also didn’t help that TDK is the greatest superhero movie ever and a fantastic movie regardless of genre.
The one thing is: that movie produced the worst line in movie history. You know what it is?
I agree to a point but the Joker is such a great character that he's never going away. There is a reason that they keep coming back to him as Batman's main enemy.
I'm super pumped about this movie and think Joaquin Phoenix has a chance of nailing it. I mean, the guy learned how to sing Johnny Cash songs every bit as good as Johnny Cash, ffs.
This looks awesome. I don't care what @WOKEdude69420 said on twitter about the trailer. Even the trailer is phenomenal.
This. I don't understand Hollywoods obsession with the character. Ledger completely knocked it out of the park just a few years ago and they already rebooted the character twice?
Why? I just don't get it

It’s impossible to compare anyone to heath ledger as the joker. No one will ever come close. Heath ledger played him perfect. Now Joaquin, is crazy enough to possibly pull it off but it won’t be the same because we will constantly compare him to heath ledger because he’s synonymous with the joker. I think Joaquin will do a hell of s job putting his own spin on the joker but if you go in expecting him to be Heath ledger you will be disappointed, the good news is, he can’t be any worse that the **** job Jared Leto did
That’s exactly the point I was getting at I guess. Many people just measure it in comparison to maybe one of the greatest portrayals of a character in the history of cinema
I think Joaquin is a first rate actor and will bring his own thing to the role. From the trailer I can already surmise that his Joker will be more of a melancholy revenge-minded crazy than the outright sociopath that Ledger played him.

Also, no Chris Nolan here. The fact that TDK was such a wonderfully scripted and filmed movie only added to Ledger's performance. Zero chance the writing, directing, and cinematography will be as good for this film.
I'm not sure how I feel about this one. I hate the constant changing of actors playing the same character. It's bad enough that they have had 5 different people playing Batman in the 10(?) movies he has appeared in (I believe that is the number counting the Suicide Squad cameo) and now we will have a 4th different actor playing Joker in the character's 4th movie.
I'm not sure if I really care about a Joker origin story. I actually kind of like the mystery surrounding the character in the way it was portrayed by Ledger. I like how he makes up a different story each time he tells someone about himself. Just not into the origin story of him falling into a vat of chemicals and becoming the Joker.
