Of course the courts are getting packed. Running through ACB is going to have consequences.
So you are willing to how

so you have no problem with your candidate refusing to disclose if he plans to completely change a third of the three branches of government even though he once said it was a boneheaded idea

I have no problem with Biden restoring balance to the Supreme Court. Technically though, Congress would be making the change in that situation.

Realistically from a political standpoint, why disclose anything when it will just rile up Trump voters? Trumps had a pretty terrible month so far, why give his campaign any oxygen? Trumps going to accuse him of it regardless of what he says anyway.

Just heard some audio from 1993 of Joe Biden praising the Daughters of the Confederacy and how their were good people still flying the confederate flag. Probably talking about his good buddy from West Virginia.

I just watched a debate last week where Trump told a group of neo-Nazis to “stand by”.

“Elections have consequences “
This court decision is the consequence of the 2016 election.Where does it end you pack the court and when the Republicans gain power they repack it again. At what point does the Judicial Branch become just another political entity

I think it’s hard to argue it’s not already a political entity. It’s been trending that way for quite a while.

Realistically, it shouldn’t be slanted one way or another. It should be a fair, balanced, non-partisan body. Major reforms are needed to make that a reality though. I would start by eliminating lifetime appointments.

If Biden wins the election and Democrats retake the Senate, he should add two justices to the court (assuming ACB is confirmed before the election). One to make up for the stolen Garland seat and one to restore balance in the court. Republicans should not be rewarded for slamming a nomination through weeks before they are likely swamped in an election.

If Republicans were to hold off on the nomination until after the election and Trump wins, I would have no problem with them seating ACB.

FYI. While in the Senate, Byrd both acknowledged his racist past and apologized for it. At the time of his death, the NAACP said that his voting record was 100% in line with their platform.

It's cute how liberals are using this quote as if it somehow justifies packing courts or not answering an important question until after the election. Here's where this quote is relevant. In 2016, Trump won the election. In 2018 the republicans maintained control of the senate. Those are the two elections that are consequential to the nomination of the SCOTUS in 2020. When the democrats threaten to pack courts just because they still haven't accepted the results of the 2016 presidential election and the 2018 congressional election, they are refusing to accept the fact that elections have consequences.

Yep.

And I love how Barrett is like giving speeches about getting rid of abortion and then not disclosing that to the Senate. But it doesn’t matter. We should totally confirm her.

I don’t think there’s any question on whether she gets confirmed or not at this point and as a Democrat, I have to admire the ruthlessness that McConnell operates with. He pulls no punches, never worries about the optics, and he is fully willing to sacrifice the Senate majority to ram this nomination through. Democratic leadership could learn a thing or two from him.

It’s time to stop pretending that Republican politicians will eventually act in good faith. They never do. I don’t want to hear a single word about bipartisanship after this election. It’s time to fix this mess.

Yeah. You admire the ruthlessness of McConnell for operating within the constitution fulfilling an obligation to the American people who voted for the party to preserve their values. That's nice.

Do you admire the ruthlessness of the democrats who staged a collusion hoax, a sham impeachment and tried like the devil to destroy the life of an innocent man by painting him as a alcoholic rapist in an attempt to keep the Republicans from appointing him to the SCOTUS in hopes of flipping the Senate before he could be voted in?

Let me see,

I have no problem with exposing BK to be a giant tool bag. It’s a lifetime appointment and judges should be thoroughly vetted. Besides, what do you care about tearing people down? You routinely refer to people as pedophiles to suit your narrative. Lol, I’m sure you’re sooooo concerned about other people’s lives and reputations...

I have no problem with exposing Trumps ties to foreign countries and autocratic leaders. I see it as a national security issue as do a majority of Americans. I would also like to know who he owes that $400,000,000.00 too

Who are these people that I routinely refer to as pedophiles? Let's start with this because this is a lie personally directed at me. If by calling Biden, pedo Joe (somewhat jokingly) I routinely refer to people as pedophiles, I suppose you got me there. And how is this even comparable to the democrats IN POWER attempting to destroy an innocent man's life through political theater?

Supreme Court Justices serve lifetime appointments. They should be thoroughly vetted. Any questions about them should be answered during the confirmation process. If you don’t want your nominee racked through the coals because of stuff in their past, pick a nominee who doesn’t have stuff in their past.

Okay, so I guess you are just going to accuse me of something and then not go back on it. That's cool.

And quit acting like what they did to Kavanaugh was vetting him. That is a joke.
