********. I have Mitch McConnell and his lack of concern about democratic norms to thank for the nightmare that has become our government and the USSCt.. I also blame the Americans who did not do everything that they could to complain about how this process was going and insist that our government work the way it was designed to. So I blame you. Am I an angry liberal, yes and no. I am actually not as liberal as you would like to paint me but I am very angry. The Republican assault on the environment, on women's reproductive rights, on gay marriage is on and it disgusts me, as an American, that the minority has such outsized power.
And, again, you take this stuff out of context. The Dems had to do away with the filibuster for judges because the republicans absolutely refused to seat any of the judges in the circuits and large numbers of empty chairs was actually a huge problem.
You should try getting out of your fear bubble. Gay marriage is not going anywhere. Abortions are not going anywhere even if Roe V Wade is overturned. And the ACA wasn't done constitutionally to begin with if you're so concerned about democratic norms.

To the judges, I am old enough to remember a lot of people's favorite president say, "elections have consequences". Do you agree with that?

********. Well the beauty of the filibuster was to prevent someone like Obama from nominating activist judges, like he subsequently did. Instead of trying to nominate activist judges, maybe try and nominate someone who can win votes from both sides. You know, like they did for decades. Since Harry Reid didn't like that idea, he nuked the filibuster and started confirming activist judges. As Mitch McConnell put it, the Dems would regret doing what they did, and now we know they have. But in terms of precedent, Mitch McConnell followed precedent in his approach to filing Supreme Court nominations.

I laugh at liberals like yourself that fear monger and pull their hair out when you don't get your way or find someone who doesn't agree with your values/thoughts exactly. Assault on the environment, women's reproductive rights, gay marriage....Give me an f'ing break. Quit being such a fear mongering *****.

If you honestly think the Democrats would have played things ANY differently, you're nothing more than a partisan hack.

Can't even come up with an original moniker for that brainwashed ****? Why are you celebrating it? You actively support millions of Americans losing health insurance?
Uh oh. The young liberal is angry! I laugh at someone like yourself calling someone as highly qualified, educated and distinguished as ACB a brainwashed ****. LOL. Given what you've told us about yourself, I honestly don't think anyone would be convinced to respect your opinion, on anything. Honestly.

What am I celebrating? I am celebrating a highly qualified, originalist type judge getting confirmed to be on the Supreme Court for the rest of her career. I am happy that she is going to review the ACA and it's constitutionality. The ACA was a huge failure and shouldn't have even been put into place.

This is the kind of **** that makes it impossible to respect someone like you. What about that woman gives you the impression that she is a brainwashed ****? After reading your posts ITT, I would easily say that it is you who is brainwashed. All you are is a regurgitated pile of democrat diarrhea.
I’ve not read anything from those on the left criticizing the Democrats. I have read almost every Trump supporter criticize him. Personally, there’s quite a few from the right that I wish weren’t there.
It truly is laughable. If Biden were a Republican (thank God he’s not) the left (media) would crucify him. Same goes for that windbag Harris. And if you think Pelosi, Shumer, and Cuomo are good leaders, you are sniffing some strong glue.

The meme Hart posted of Trump acting like a baby with 60 minutes interview was funny. But, Trump was also right. Stahl likes him as much as Hart does Carolina.

Lets call a spade a spade okay? She's a cult member who will absolutely put her religious views before women's right to their own bodies, and before American's right to affordable health care.

She may be educated but even her alma mater doesn't believe she should be put on the SC.

nice of you to be so sure gay marriage isn’t going anywhere. two sitting justices are on record wanting to reverse the earlier decision and that federalist society clone who is about to sit still thinks homosexuality is a preference as opposed to an orientation. and even if they don’t outright get rid of it, the primacy religion is now playing means it will be reduced to meaningless, as store owners, hotels and even doctors will be able to say that serving gay patrons violates their dIf you don’t think the plan on the right was to pack the courts to get rid of Roe, then you have been living in a bubble. You are right. Electins have consequences. But I don’t think Obama meant that should extend to stolen elections in whch foreign governments interfere. And sadly, one consequence is that we now have to face the fact that there i very strong strain of fascism running through this country.

Shatter is absolutely right though. Her alma mater came out against her nomination. Given how much prestige having an alumni who is on the Supreme Court is for a school, and its alumnae, that says a lot.

Jesus. Another fear mongering lunatic? You guys need to research the role of the SCOTUS. Their job is not to judge or interpret policy. Their job is to uphold the constitution and rule on cases based on the laws passed by congress. It really doesn't matter that the judges are pro life, pro choice if they rule according to the law. I am confident that gay marriage will not be touched because I don't believe that there will be a president that would try to overturn it. It is basically a non partisan issue at this point. Nobody wants the political backlash that it would bring. And even if it were overturned, it would be left to the states. I seriously doubt that it is high on very many people's lists of important voting issues. And again, Roe V Wade being over turned is maybe more likely than gay marriage. But in the event that happens, just like with gay marriage, it would still be allowed in the vast majority of the states. As our constitution intended. Don’t worry, I am confident that you will still be able to kill your babies in the vast majority of the states.

And your garbage about stolen elections, well that's just garbage. Fascism? More garbage.

If you look at his age you can understand his thinking. He is from the generation that got a trophy for participation rather than achievement. He was taught in school that no one should have to strive to achieve but get the same results regardless.I think that for once Kamala said something true that young people are stupid.I know she was talking about college students but he is basically their age

Coming from someone in a generation that grew up during a booming economy and didn't have to hope for a low wage job despite having a college education. Hell all I heard growing up was how easy it was back in the day, yet my generation is the participation trophy generation? Give me a ******* break.

Again you show your lack of historical knowledge.I got got of college in the mid seventies.Mortgage rates were in the mid teens, gas prices had doubled.I looked back at an inflation calculator and my competitive starting salary was almost ten thousand dollars less than my three kids starting salary. One day when you get some life experience you will realize how stupid your ideas are

For 40 years Biden lied claiming the truck driver was drunk that was involved in accident that killed his wife. He has lied about so many things. He has sucked on the government’s tit for 46 years. Now his son, brothers and son-in -law have learned how to game the system. The left made fun of Reagan’s slow decline in his second term as Nancy began to shield him from the public. Biden won’t last 2 years

If you think a judge's political/religious leanings does not influence how he/she votes, you have not bothered reading a newspaper. Your comment about "killing babies" says a lot about you and how little you think of women. You should be aware that not all religions agree when life begins, Judaism being one. As for the stolen election, very much a page out of the republican playbook. Gerrymandering anyone? Kicking people off the voting rolls without proper notice? And as for the influence of Putin, again, if you bothered to read the Mueller report, you would be ashamed to support this candidate.

Again You are being disingenuous. The Notre Dame law school faculty is firmly behind her while the general faculty has came out against her.You should at least intellectually honest before making broad statements that are not factually based

Cool. Well anyways. Give it a rest with my smartass comment saying a thing about how I think of women. That is the dumbest and most pussified emotional claim you could have made about the comment. You do realize that there are a lot of women who don't support abortions, right?

And to go back to your ridiculous assertion that the election was stolen, my original point in bringing the quote, "elections have consequences" was in reference to Harry Reid and his boomerang deal to end the filibuster. Not the 2016 election. The democrats lost elections and didn't have bipartisan support in the senate, so he changed the rules to bypass congressional election results. And that boomerang is hitting you liberals square in the head right about now. When you get up from your nap, ACB will have been sworn in by the great Clarence Thomas.

And, muh Russia. When will you guys get your heads out of your asses? Get over it already.

Just wait. If/when Trump wins again it is going to be non stop coverage on how it was voter fraud or something like that. It’ll be the next investigation by the Dems.

These clowns are hilarious. Shattersky, durhamgolfer, and their resident leader Dude, are all bat **** crazy. Barrett a cult leader? How stupid are they to even suggest that?
If Trump wins, we might have to commit the 3 of them.

When you stop insulting me, I will stop insulting you. I am aware that there are women who don't support abortion rights. I have my own views of that but when you start throwing around how we can go back to killing babies, you are repeating a dumb ***, and incredible insulting, trope that somehow we liberals love killing babies. If you believe that crap, you need to get your head out of your ***. As far as the filibuster, I don't understand why you can't get your head around why the dems were forced to do away with the filibuster. It was that, thanks to a decided lack of respect for President Obama and the Democratic Party from Moscow Mitch and the rest of the party, they refused to confirm hundreds of federal judges and, as a result, the judicial system was poised to short circuit.

What is particularly frustrating is that Moscow Mitch and Putin's ***** represent a party that is very much in the minority. Drumpf lost the popular vote by 3 million and no, no undocumented immigrants voted. The senators who have voted to confirm this last three justices represent states with far less citizens that the states that opposed him. And we are the donor states. Our taxes help pay unemployment and other various federal subsidies from states like West Virginia, who all the while complain about federal interference. Trump's approval rating has never been above 50% so consistently, he has been opposed by the majority. And still we get crap like these right wing, under qualified judges sitting on the Supreme Court. You can tell me to get my head out of my ***, but what I have just said is not feelings, it is hard-core facts borne out by every legitimate poll and by the midterm elections.

Do me a favor and post Biden’s accomplishments. It won’t look much different than the paper Barrett showed last week.

No new wars,Average income increase of 6000.00 per year.huge 401 k increases, criminal Justice legislation,HBCU funding,Pre covid historic low enemployment across all races. Can go further but that is enough for now because that is more than Obama accomplished in eight years and forty seven for Biden
