Weird. I didn't see you call out the other lib here that was calling Amy Coney Barrett disparaging names because he disagrees with her judicial philosophy. Wonder why you didn't...
Fair point. I should have objected when he called her a ****. As for the rest of his complaints, they were geared directly at her qualifications and did not include perjoratives. So, both your manners are lacking.

It was a commendable effort. We are just a week away from the most polarized election of our lives, though. It's mud slinging time.

Yeah, I gave it go, all for naught in the end though, haha I guess my whole thing was we're all so focused on the election, negativity, the virus, protests, unrest, ACB, Trump's 60 Minutes interview, Biden's basement time, murder hornets, etc. That I feel we tend to lose ourselves in all this and forget that we're just humans trying to survive out here in a ever-changing crazy *** world. And I get it, these are not normal times. I guess I just wanted to bring a little bit of normalcy to the thread. Maybe even to project a little civility, (which I am guilty of not doing myself at times here), and try to find some common ground on something way less divisive. Fully aware of the fact that many may not love it as much as I do, btw. Thought that maybe for a day we could all stop with the pot shots at each other and just talk about movies or some other ******** like that. Anyway, overlook my futile attempt at diplomacy, haha

It truly depends on your sensibilities. Film/TV is so subjective, especially horror and comedy. What we perceive to be frightening may not be for the next person, same with humor.

The Haunting of Hill House on Netflix is a good horror television series. If you don't mind subtitles check out, Dark. Great German horror/Sci-fi series. Kolchak: The Night Stalker is the series that inspired another great series, The X-Files, and of course the original Twilight Zone, Twin Peaks, Tales From the Crypt, The Stand mini-series, Tales from the Darkside, and Ash vs Evil Dead.

Horror comedies: Night of the Creeps, Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, Housebound, Extra Ordinary, Evil Dead films, Cooties, What We Do in the Shadows film/TV series, Re-Animator, Fright Night (1985), Bubba Ho-tep, The Final Girls, Shaun of the Dead, Love at First Bite, Return of the Living Dead, Krampus, John Dies at the End, Deathgasm, Ed and his Dead Mother, Drag Me To Hell, The Monster Squad (fun movie if you have kids btw), The Voices, Sightseers, Slither, Lake Placid, Better Watch Out (if Home Alone was a horror film), The Cabin in the Woods, House, House II: The Second Story, Teen Wolf, and a great deal more I could list here.

Random Gems/Indie flicks/classics/haunted houses: Let's Scare Jessica to Death, Spring, Trick r' Treat (2007), You're Next, Ready or Not, The Autopsy of Jane Doe, The Changeling, The Exorcist III (best one in the series in my opinion), The Frighteners, Wake in Fright, Phenomena, Stage Fright, Magic, Starry Eyes, Lovely Molly, Mandy, Color out of Space, John Carpenter's In the Mouth of Madness, John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness, The Devil's Candy, The Hallow, The House of the Devil, The Wicker Man (1973), A Dark Song, The Void, The Descent, The Sacrament, Eden Lake, Halloween III: Season of the Witch (no Myers, it's bonkers, silly, cheesy, and fun), Kill List, The Mist, Frailty, The Canal, It Follows, V/H/S 1 and 2, Summer of '84, Alone in the Dark (1982), We Are What We Are (2013), Oculus, Willow Creek, The Guest, The Innkeepers, Tragedy Girls, Ghost Stories (2018), Cheap Thrills, The Invitation, Bone Tomahawk, The Babadook, Haunt (2019), Z, The Neon Demon, The Wailing, The Battery, The Ring, The Shining, John Carpenter's The Fog, Stir of Echoes, The Others, Dawn of the Dead original and the remake, The Dead Zone, Pan's Labyrinth, 28 Days Later, I Saw the Devil, Trollhunter, 1408, Funny Games, Event Horizon, Mr. Brooks, The Legend of Hell House, The Hitcher (original), Ravenous, What Lies Beneath, Black Death, Cube, Race With the Devil, Fire in the Sky, Rec, Fallen, Open Grave, Triangle, Maggie, A Horrible Way to Die, and countless others.

Slashers: Of course the big daddy series Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, and Friday the 13th. My favorites in those would be the first Halloween, New Nightmare, and Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, The Burning, Tourist Trap, Road Games, Raw Meat, The Strangers, Maniac (2012), Child's Play (1988), Scream series, Candyman, Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon, Psycho (1960), Dressed to Kill, and Black Christmas (1974).

Body Horror: Obviously John Carpenter's The Thing, Alien/Aliens, The Fly, Videodrome, From Beyond, Basket Case, The Brood, Under the Skin, Scanners, Dead Ringers, The Blob (1988), Hellraiser I and II, Society (easily one of the most disgustingly enjoyable flicks ever), Possession (1981), Suspiria (2018), Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978), Bad Milo, The Ruins, Bug, Honeymoon (2014), Overlord, and many more.

Werewolves: An American Werewolf in London, The Howling, Wer, Dog Soldiers, Ginger Snaps, The Beast Within (technically not a werewolf movie, but it's got Ronny Cox playing as a angst riddle guy who turns into a monster), Stephen King's Silver Bullet, The Wolf of Snow Hollow, Bad Moon, Wolfen, The Curse of the Werewolf, Wolf, the werewolf genre is slim pickings for great flicks though.

Vampires: Fright Night (1985), Stakeland, 30 Days of Night, anything Christopher Lee and Hammer related, From Dusk Till Dawn, Paperhouse, John Carpenter's Vampires, Let the Right One In and the remake Let Me In, Near Dark, Cronos, The Night Stalker (1972), Shadow of the Vampire, Salem's Lot (1979), From the Dark, and several others I just can't think of right now.

Mainstream horror of late: The Conjuring series, Insidious 1-3, Light's Out, Doctor Sleep was damn good too, though not on the level with The Shining, Midsommar, A Quiet Place, Get Out, Us, The Invisible Man, Sinister 1 and 2, Annabelle: Creation, Annabelle Comes Home, The Ritual, Apostle, Ouija: Origin of Evil, It Comes at Night, Don't Breathe, Green Room, Hereditary, It and Chapter Two, and The Witch.

I know that's a lot, haha Countless others I just can't think of I am sure. Oh and anything Hammer Films made in the 50's and 60's is worth a look. In the 70's they started to drop in quality significantly.
Yoooooo. I'm saving this. I haven't heard oh 90% of this stuff other than the newer movies. Thank you so.much!!

For sure! Hey, you may end up disliking a lot of it, but if you end up finding a few new favorites out of it then I feel like it was the worth the time it took to type it out. I tend to go overboard with recommendations and lists, obviously, haha

I feel like the negativity and divisiveness is more of an internet thing where context and personalities are easily misconstrued. I am more of a smartass than an *******. But I understand that I can also be an *******. Believe it or not, I am an optimistic person. That's why I can't stand a lot of the chicken little stuff the left likes to focus on. But maybe I will work on how I respond.

We have the smart *** thing in common. I tend to be more realistic which leads to pessimistic view points at times unfortunately. Anyway, we could all do better with regards to how we react/behave online and in our daily lives.

I also had no idea Colour out of space was a movie, I love Lovecraft so I'll definitely be checking that.out soon.

Just came out this year. Richard Stanley, who directed Hardware & Dust Devil, helmed this adaption and knocked it out of the freaking park. Lovecraft adaptions that turn out well have normally been relegated to Stuart Gordon and Brian Yunza adaptions, albeit those were mostly good to great, it just nice to see someone else tackle Lovecraft.

I hope you check some of those out dude. And, hey, I'll talk movies with anyone who wants to, haha I'd much rather discuss movies/TV than politics.
Oh dude I'm gonna. My girlfriend loves horror too and we're always looking but don't have much luck finding good stuff. There's bound to.be some real gems in there. We'll no.doubt start on it tonight.

Would rather read a horror story than watch a movie.Movies like this just aren’t as scary

Again you haven’t done your homework. She started her career as Willie Brown’s mistress.Back then he ran California politics
they had a brief relationship. She was single and he was separated from his wife, so the "mistress" description is misleading. They broke up in 1994. He certainly did offer her a couple of jobs but if she had been the ***** that you are calling her, she would have held on longer. And, just so I understand, if a woman has a relationship with someone in power, they are automatically called whores?

No only if she uses that relationship to gain power or a position.Btw he did not offer her a job he gave her two high ranking political appointments

Calling a spade a spade. Not to mention Willie Brown has pretty much verified it, it’s easy to call.
Quote from Brown on the matter:
"Yes, we dated. It was more than 20 years ago. Yes, I may have influenced her career by appointing her to two state commissions when I was Assembly speaker.

And I certainly helped with her first race for district attorney in San Francisco. I have also helped the careers of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Gov. Gavin Newsom, Sen. Dianne Feinstein and a host of other politicians."

They dated from 1994-1995, this is pretty common knowledge, however she didn't successfully run for District Attorney until 2003. So, if she was sleeping her way to the top she was pretty ******* bad at it.

She is in a scarily close position to be the POTUS. So, I guess she wasn't that bad. I couldn't handle her cackling, myself. The only person on earth to rival Hilldogg's cackle. She reminds me of Lt LaGuerta. Except more annoying.

Dexter references are always great. I'm very intrigued by the just announced limited series. The original showrunner from the first four seasons is doing it and that excites me since seasons 1-4 are damn perfect. Can't say the same for what came after.

I always tell people who haven't watched, that they owe it to themselves to watch the first four seasons. After that, you'll probably watch, but I recommend the first four seasons. I am going into the reboot with low expectations. But I am intrigued.
