Bad behavior on someone else's part does not excuse bad behavior on your part.

Eh, sometimes it does. You in a fight with someone, they are fighting dirty, do you say “Well, you might fight dirty and break my jaw and knock out some teeth and then I may go down and you may even split my head against the curb, but I will make sure it is a clean fight...”?

If Republicans want to play a certain way, then the Democrats are morons for not doing it too. Republicans want to take advantage of the fact that the Senate isn’t given a time constraint to vote on nominees in the Constitution? Well, the number of justices on the Supreme Court isn’t defined there either. Hell, we’ve had more changes to the number of justices on SCOTUS than we likely have had Senates simply refusing a vote on a nominee. And the issues at the heart of these fights are literally life and death for some people.

Absolutely sucks. There should be some form of honor in our world, some form of doing things right. But that is apparently dead.

Republicans have no problem violating norms as long as it increases their power. This has been the case since 2010.
Why did you quote me just to make a general statement that has nothing to do with the question I asked? And please, as a favor to yourself, stop posting those embarrassingly bad memes. As soon as you think you've seen the worst, bam. There's another one.

I don’t really care about your question tbh. Answering it is a waste of time. We have literally discussed all of this stuff multiple times and you never acknowledge anything that goes against the Trump narrative. I’m glad you enjoy the memes though.

So you just talk out of your *** with nothing of substance. Makes sense.

I wasn't thinking of physical confrontations with my statement. You do what you have to to save yourself. I'm not going to win a physical confrontation, so I pray I'm never in one.

If you switch Republicans and Democrats in the second paragraph, it'll capture how the other side feels. All the finger-pointing isn't solving a single problem. I honestly don't care who did what, when anymore. It's time for politicians to grow up and stop imitating the Hatfields and McCoys. I'm happy to teach them "I'm rubber, you're glue" if it'll help things along. I'm probably still certified to give cootie shots too.

People might FEEL a certain way, but when it comes to SCOTUS, this began with the Republicans denying a vote on Garland. Up until then we had been chugging along with business as usual for a long, long time. So while I get where you are going, I think it's pretty clear where this started, and where it is continuing. I mean, the Democrats haven't actually DONE anything, while the GOP has refused a vote on Garland, then put up not just one but three judges for SCOTUS confirmation, including one that is violating the rules they themselves advocated.

Not everything is the same for all sides, all the time.

Watching the Confirmation hearing this morning, does anyone else think it’s funny that Ted Cruz is appearing remotely because he was exposed to Covid but the dude that exposed him to COVID is sitting in the room talking without a mask?

Obama was a lame duck president and the party that held office was different from the party that controlled the senate. I believe it would have been a waste of time, but they still should have voted. The outcome would have been the same. So we can cry all day long about who started it, but nothing changes the facts

Fact #1. Vote or no vote, Garland was not getting voted in.

Fact #2. The president is not a lame duck president in this case no matter how confident you are about Biden winning. He is still operating under the assumption that he will be president for four more years, whether or not he wins the election.

Fact #3. The party that holds the office is the same party that controls the senate. This is the precedent.

Fact #4. Presidential elections determine how the president governs the country for four years. Not 3 or 3 1/2. Presidents have an obligation to fulfill the wishes of their voters within the constitution. Which this is very much within the constitution. Just because it is the 11th hour doesn't mean that it is unconstitutional.

Had RBG passed after the election and Biden won, then we'd be having a different discussion. Although it would still be within the constitution, precedent or not.

f1: whether Garland was voted in or not, i feel the process should have been allowed and all held accountable for their vote, yea or nay

f2: true...but tough to assume the course of the election, but should have confidence that he would continue on

f3: should'nt matter imo...all duties should still be duly performed

f4: true, Obama's 2012 election win should have carried him through his whole 4 year term...he should have had the opp. do exactly as you stated, fulfill the wishes of their voters within the constitution and back to f2 operating under the assumption about his whose coming in behind him (assuming Clinton, same difference ...right?)

Two Reagan/Bush attorneys point out the hypocrisy of what is happening, and the damage it does...

Anyone who pretends they don’t get it is lying. Congress should have voted on the nomination of the duly elected president of the United States. They compound the problem with the ridiculous hypocrisy on display now. Shameless and bereft of honor.

The next step in their twisted logic will be that no Democratic President will be able to confirm any judge unless there’s a Democratic Senate.

Lol. I imagine everyone in that crowd has a 99.96% chance of surviving IF they get covid. "Wiping out" dear god libs are a bunch of drama queens.

That said, I do find it irresponsible for Trump to be encouraging people to gather in large crowds. But I also support adults making their own decisions.

I like the commercial where the physician says Biden would save lives. Biden is probably looking for a good sale on depends.
