How about some NFL predictions for the weekend? Who do you all have winning? I say, Packers/Bucs and Chiefs/Ravens. I'd love for it to be Rams/Bucs and the Bills/Browns though. My Raiders, once again, failed to make the playoffs, so I have been pulling hard for the Bills or the Browns to make it to the Super Bowl.

Agree on all four divisional games. I like the Packers and Chiefs to meet in the Super Bowl.

I’m a pretty avid backpacker when I’m not on here schooling @Mac9192.

I usually go on 4 or 5 trips a year if time allows. My favorite trip last year was a 30 mile loop that centered around Heart Lake, Wyoming. Heart Lake is in Yellowstone National Park and is about 7ish miles from the road but it is well worth the walk. Great fishing, thermal features, gorgeous scenery, and the occasional grizzly bear.

FYI, tried to clean those fish out in the water to avoid any lingering smells but it was no use, had a nice 3 hour visit that night from a momma grizzly and 2 cubs....

I'll switch it up some. Since it is mostly negative interactions here.

We stayed in Dillsboro weekend before last. Pretty cool little mountain town. Had the best steak dinner I believe I've ever had at a place called Boots. We went and saw some waterfalls and just checked out some towns. Also went to Pigeon Forge. Never been.

In Pigeon Forge there is a crime museum called Alcatraz East. Really cool. Here is OJ's Bronco and Ted Bundy's VW.

The museum has lots of details into infamous crimes and serial killers with evidence collected in each case on display. Was a cool way to kill an hour or so. Plus the drive from NC to Tennessee through the mountains was beautiful. We also went to a whiskey distillery. Got a little lit off of the free samples and didn't buy any. Terrible, I know.

This is Whitewater Falls almost in S.C. . I am told it is the largest waterfall east of Colorado. Don't fact check me. Just what I am told.

It was actually 68 degrees that day. Not bad for a January day in the mountains.

Dry Falls is pretty cool. It is really close to a town (Cashiers?) Maybe. We had some good BBQ there. Forget the name of the restaurant. But you can walk under this waterfall.

It was really cool. But a lot more crowded than Whitewater. There was only one other couple at Whitewater when we were there.

Would like to go back and do the Smokey Mountain train ride. We were planning on doing that but it wasn't running the weekend we were up there.

Good pictures. I would definitely dig the crime museum. I'd probably end blowing a lot more than an hour there.

Here’s some bonus pictures of Livingston, MT/Paradise Valley back in October. It got down to -5 that weekend which is always fun. ;)

Looks great, but I'll enjoy the view from here. Don't do the cold or the snow.

@Crest is Garbage we are beach/island people. This is Curacao. One of my favorite places.

That's just one beach. Porto Marie. The island has tons of beaches similar. Some are isolated and some have bars and restaurants.

Bonaire is incredible as well. Unfortunately, I lost all of my images from that trip. My wife has a few on her's but I do most of the picture taking.

We were supposed to be on our trip this week. But it got canceled, of course. We do Caribbean vacations every January. Sometimes we do a cruise, but most times we try to find villas on an island somewhere. This will be our first year since 2013 not doing a trip. I guess we'll get over it.

Just when I think you can’t post anything worse, you outdo yourself. This guy that put that out there is a pathetic, and horrible person. Lies, nothing but lies. And your ignorant *** reposted it.
You’re truly clueless. Please, I hope you don’t have kids. I’ll pay for your vasectomy.

but Trump said all those things......the end is an opinion based on those things that Trump has said....not a stupid meme.....it has all truths and an opinion based thereof

That is a lie. Look them up, each of Trump’s full messages. Not what msm, or these liberals that only play portions of the messages. That’s the problem, truth isn’t being reported, and you guys assume what you’re reading has to be true. But it isn’t.
Be better than the other liberals here. Separate yourself from them. Seriously.

It’s like when these candidates run for office. A few years back, Harold Johnson, from NC, ran for Congress. He wanted to change our way of being taxed, and go to a National Sales Tax of like 17%. What did his opponent run an ad saying? That Harold Johnson wanted to raise your taxes, not telling the truth. It’s old, tiring, and flat out dishonest. I’m not saying Johnson would have been a good choice.

Like I’ve said, you liberals are still playing politics. ALL of these politicians are getting richer, while we bicker and say my side is better than yours. They are nothing more than pro wrestlers. Acting like they despise each other when the camera is on, then playing poker in the back later.

Here's the initial Mexican immigrants are rapists and drug dealers comment:

"When do we beat Mexico at the border? They’re laughing at us, at our stupidity. And now they are beating us economically. They are not our friend, believe me. But they’re killing us economically.

The U.S. has become a dumping ground for everybody else’s problems.
Thank you. It’s true, and these are the best and the finest. When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."

Some important parts of it:

"They're sending..."

Coupled with the previous paragraph, Trump implies the Mexican government are sending these criminals to destroy the United States.

The uses of "believe me," and, "it's true," are used to affirm his own beliefs and emphasize to the listener how factual they really are.

"And some, I assume, are good people."

This is perhaps the only uncertain thought he expressed during the entire (facts-optional) speech. Trump is not for sure, but he supposes there are a few good people among these Mexican criminals who want nothing more than to sell drugs to your children and rape your women. Hell, they might rape you, too if they get the chance!

Here's the entire transcript from 2015 if you'd like to read it to make sure I didn't leave out some of the context:

I find it interesting that, five years later, Trump would defend his lack of transparency (or flat out lying) about the Coronavirus because he didn't want to create a panic. It would seem he certainly didn't mind creating a panic about Mexicans coming into our country.

You guys want to have civil discussions, but then this pu**y @bleediteveryday30 comes along and posts something so stupid. He's nothing but a clown, and a retarded one at that.

A clown, a *****, and a retard! Those are compliments coming from your deranged dumbass @Mac9192 I've tried having civil discussions. It's impossible to have one with you. In order to have a civil discussion you'd have to remove Trump's balls from your mouth and that's clearly not going to happen.

Look, you're too stupid to get it. If you want to get technical, like ghost said, it was democrats who wore hoods. You're just a dipshit that is too dense to understand anything of real meaning. Stick to playing your video games, or watching sci fi movies. You have no business talking politics.

Yeah, it's you that doesn't get it man. Deflect, ignore, deflect, ignore....so on and so forth. But, sure, I'm the dipshit, haha Again, I don't play video games. I also don't understand why you associate that with having lower intelligence. Did a gamer hurt your feelings or say something about your orange Hitler? Anyway, I do love sci fi! So, there's that. I hate resorting to personal attacks, but you make it so easy to not feel remorse for that you ******* ghoul.

So what are some promising policies that Biden’s administration is going to enact to get our country rolling again? Seems like we haven't talked about the future.

No argument there. Today's Republican party looks a lot more like the Dixiecrat movement than it does Ronald Reagan's GOP.

I think Biden's familiarity with governmental procedure and ability to partner with different types will lead to a more effective and efficient rollout of the vaccine, which should help the economy and the overall morale of the country.

If the potential executive order that has been talked about that would automatically forgive 10K to 20K of student loan debt comes to pass that would help the economy, too.

10K - 20K may not seem like a huge amount when compared with the huge numbers that get thrown around, but data has shown that most people who owe around 10K or so in student loans never completed their degrees so they're not getting that extra income that comes with a degree. Eliminating those payments or bringing them out of default would allow those folks to begin putting that money somewhere (house, car, investments) that will boost their standard of living as well as the economy.

Biden, with both houses, should be able to push out another round of Covid relief, possibly even the balance of the $2,000 amount that has been suggested. That should help those who are in need and allow those who are not necessarily in need to pump additional funds into local economies.

When you have something to lose and you're going to commit a crime, it's pretty dumb to make yourself so identifiable. Klete Keller, a 6-6 Olympic Gold medalist, wore his damn Team USA jacket to break in the House of Congress. That was all kinds of stupid.

As far as civil discussion, did you read the transcript, or at least look at the excerpts, I posted of Trump's announcement speech?

Continuing forever wars, not raising the minimum wage, ignoring the climate crisis but reentering the Paris agreement in name only, no real prison reform, no real police reform, gridlock in congress (even with the D control), and more generally ****** neoliberal trade policies. Whatever keeps the elites, Wallstreet, big pharm, and all the other big corporations happy,(just like Trump did until now). If all that happens then we end up with a Qanon/Trumper, (they'll be primarying all of these establishment Republicans who are speaking out against Trump now), Republican House control in '22 and a demagogue that is much worse than Trump, (believe it or not), running and winning in '24.

But, I hope I am wrong. I hope Biden comes in and is the second coming of FDR. We need someone who can unite the country. Just not sure Joe is the right guy for the moment, but it's who we got, so what can you do? He's better than Trump and hopefully he can calm this **** down some. Something Trump was unwilling to do. I do agree with @Jtre. I think we will get the $2,000, some extensions on unemployment, and possibly some small business owner relief within the first 100 days. The student debt forgiveness I am 50/50 on. After that, it's a crap shoot in my opinion.

Proving the point. Parts of his speech. If you would listen to all he says, it’s NEVER as bad as your side paints it.

Congratulations to the left (CCP), they’ve managed to control the media, big tech...

You can’t compete when the other side has control of those.

What part of what he said has been distorted?

Please explicitly point to it in the excerpt.

I'm trying to understand, but I just don't see it.

It is there. He said those things about Mexicans coming to this country. When you contrast his statements about rapists and drug dealers with his assumption that there are probably some good people, too, it makes it all the more clear what he was trying to say.
