so he was new to me. He must have no D or no jump shot if he isn't in the NBA full time.</p>

You would know that he was a McDonald's All American in High School. Originally signed with Florida and transferred to Cincinatti where he finished his college career.

I dunno, maybe the guys in the NBA are just really, really good and it's wee bit harder to keep them from scoring.

No, you're probably right. They don't play any defense in the NBA at all.

12 man roster and only two rounds to the draft. Every player was the best player on his team in high school. college, or over seas. If a defender gives you a step and you can't knock down the shot in the NBA. You won't be there long.

It falls back on to what has already been said. These guys are that good and even if you are defending them, shots are going to go down. There are great defenders in the league and the teams that win actually play good defense. Playing good defense doesn't mean that there isn't high scoring. If they didn't play defense it would be like the All Star game with scores constantly above 130 points.

There were some "And 1" style tapes of him when he was younger. He was ridiculously athletic and had some pretty innovative dunks even then.

another urban myth, the whole "no defense in the nba." not saying that you don't, but i find it funny that (more often than not) people make that statement usually also admit that they don't even watch the nba. i watch it every night and love it. let me tell you, these guys play d. as stated above, the reason these guys score so much isn't because of the lack of d, but that they are usually just all-around badasses.

Something that's always irritated me is when somebody says they don't like a sport because.... and they just make up some ridiculous thing that isn't even true. If you don't care for a sport, fine. There's no reason to make up **** about it to support your feelings.

Don't act like I should. You are off to a bad start. Read more and post less.

No defense in the NBA? You are a regular Jack Ramsey aren't you?

"95% of America" may not follow SEC basketball, but for those of us who do, no "introduction" was necessary.

You didn't know the guy, and that's ok, but he didn't just arrive on the scene. He's been around, and some of us actually knew his name before you stumbled upon the ESPN link. Feel free to continue to comb the interwebs for the next dunk contest winner, though, as this was an overwhelming success.

Not to mention that the NBA changing the hand checking rules in the mid-late 90's really made life a lot easier for offensive players when they already had an advantage.

The thing is if you want to watch "great defense" then go watch Big 10 basketball. It's brutal and if the NBA was like this it would not be entertaining to watch at all.

you didn't know what the +$%! you were talking about, and when that was pointed out, you got defensive and began throwing out ridiculous percentages to back your ignorance. Hey, am I allowed to make up numbers too? 65.43 % of people who know **** about basketball, know who White is. How's that?

The NBA is brutal and it is not entertaining to watch. I think that is pretty evident in the television ratings.
