Very pleased with how we performed Saturday. If the rumors of Autry being available are true, we will be fine defensively. He had a few disruptive plays Saturday that showed his impact at DT. With all the moving parts heading into this season (losing key defensive players, new qb, suspensions) it was inevitable this year's team needed a couple games to get settled. I am excited where this team is going.
These next two weeks are huge for our season - playing competition that is close to our level, but if we perform well, we should win these games by 10+ points. Kansas State will be improved from what we saw last season, a coaching change there was due. I believe this team will have trademarks of what typical K State football has been - lacking talent at some positions, but well-coached and won't beat themselves. We need a decent crowd there Saturday morning, this game worries me a little if we get off to a slow start.
Kentucky will test our run defense and we'll find out quickly how much our run D improved from week 1. QB injury hurts them, especially since he was mobile. I somewhat like this matchup more than Kansas State, praying for a night game.
