If you can honestly say that his defense and baserunning throughout the second half of his career were stellar then you have blinders on.

Body of work as a whole: Pujols, everytime until Pujols gets jacked up beyond possibilty and becomes a slow unserviceable outfielder

being a leader in the clubhouse is something statistics can't measure. Pujols is a leader for his team and a roll model for the younger players. Bonds was a "me" player. I watch Pujols every game and he is always hustling, taking the extra base when he can. He is a very intelligent player. I can't really say whether Bonds was that way or not early in his career, but my guess is he wasn't.
