Now that Rettig has at least temporarily been named the starter, away we go......

September 5: Norfolk State W 30-6
September 12: Washington State W 26-23
September 19: at Penn State L 24-13
September 26: Kansas W 37-19
October 10: Michigan State L 41-13
October 17: at Indiana W 27-24 OT
October 24: Ohio State L 45-10
October 31: at Wisconsin L 30-17
November 7: at Michigan L 19-13
November 14: Nebraska L 31-26
November 21: at Army W 34-22
November 28: Maryland W 27-13

6-6/2-5 in conference. I am not predicting any surprising and I don't think this will be a surprising season either way. Not the year for it. I believe this is the year to tread water where the goal is to just break even and make a bowl. Breaking in a new qb, still questions in the secondary, and a new offensive coordinator, a year to keep afloat while young players gain experience and better recruits come into the program. Obviously a lot of swing games....WSU, Penn State, Michigan and Maryland. Its a successful season if we can sneak one of those PSU/Mich games. I see Indiana/Nebraska as games where the favorites should win but its chances for an upset..Indy or RU or RU over Nebby

RU goes to the Heart of Dallas Bowl where they will easily dispatch of Rice 41-20 to finish the season at 7-6.

1- Rutgers will win the 4 out of conference games.
2- Rutgers will win 2 Bi1G games,Indiana,Maryland
3- Rutgers will lose the following B1G games:penn State,Michigan State,Ohio State,Wisconsin,Michigan and Nebraska
4- Rutgers could lose to Indiana and defeat either Penn State,Michigan or Nebraska
5.Rutgers will have 20 point losses to Ohio State,Michigan State and Wisconsin
6- A 6-6 season is one step down from last year but is basically a status quo situation with the question marks at quarterback, offensive and defensive line and defensive backs.
7-Losing any of the out of conference games will result in a 4-5 win season.

Ehhh...are these predictions? I can't tell since you mix a lot of "WILL" with some conflicting "COULD". What do you actually predict?

6-6 record,2-4 league record.Item 6 says the record will be 6-6 and the reasons why.The could item was mentioned as a possibility to offset losing to Indiana which still would be 6-6.

Highlight of the season will be the win in Happy Valley. The starting QB not knowing the playbook and a possible Flood suspension will probably cost RU the game against WSU, but the close loss will help the team get up for TTFP.

So I have been hinting at this for a while, I believe this team is much better than people think...and the defense is MUCH MUCH better than people think. Like if there are little or no injuries to this squad people all over the nation will be talking about our defense. We have the most underrated advantage in football, and I don't mean college football I mean all levels of football....The ability to rush the passer without the need to blitz. It was this advantage that people say was the reason the Giants won that recent superbowl beating the undefeated Patriots in the process. That being said, the schedule is brutal so even an 8-4 record is a huge accomplishment. So without further ado:

September 5: Norfolk State W...by alot
September 12: Washington State W...teams from the West Coast going east do not do well
September 19: at Penn State L...more about this later
September 26: Kansas W...by alot
October 10: Michigan State L....very close, maybe even in OT, and people will start to talk
October 17: at Indiana W...by alot
October 24: Ohio State L....by alot, as with everyone on their schedule
October 31: at Wisconsin W...more about this alter
November 7: at Michigan W...more about this later
November 14: Nebraska L....more about this later
November 21: at Army W...by alot
November 28: Maryland W...close game

The bottom line is I think we go 8-4, losing to MSU close and OSU in a no contest. Then I think we will split the PSU/Michigan game. I think we are just as good as both of these teams but you can't say we are at a point in this program where we can just go in to a 100K stadium and expect to win every time. I picked the early game to lose, unfortunately it is PSU. Then I think we will split the Nebraska/Wisconsin game in what will be our biggest win since Louisville. That was a tough decision though, I think Nebraska is in better shape than Wisconsin, but Wisconsin is away...I flipped a coin and it came up Badgers.

Then comes the best prediction Southern Gentleman...WE MEET AGAIN! RU against Arkansas in the Music City Bowl!!!!! What a great time that will be!!! Of course I have to predict RU wins in a shootout.....

Although the offense will be a question until we really see what we have, I have a lot of confidence in the D. So maybe we can win some close games without having to put a lot of points on the board.
I'm thinking we get 7 wins and go to another bowl.

I have no idea how the season will go...but I have his prediction

We run the table in September, get in the national rankings for both the Michigan state and ohio state games that creates a gameday atmosphere that is unrivaled in Rutgers fooball history

And....We take one of those two teams down to the wire....at least
