Many of you know that Coach34 and Brutius placed a bet earlier this season. The bet revolved around who would finish higher in total offense this year, Michigan or MSU. As you might expect, Coach took Michigan. The stakes of the bet were high - the loser would have to leave Six Pack Speak.

So as not to clog the board with all the posts from the original thread and the update thread, I will provide the links.

This is where it started. The problem with this thread is that for some reason all of Coach's replies are mysteriously gone. Have been for a while now. It was filled with all the things you might expect. Name calling, cursing, and finally, an internet bet.

Here are updates throughout the year. Brutius jumped out to a big lead early, but Croom eventually brought him back to the pack. Coach used some big Michigan days to surge to the lead through last week.

Yesterday, things changed more drastically than most expected, leaving Brutius on the cusp of history. Ohio State stonewalled Michigan to the tune of 198 yards, giving the Wolverines a total of 290.75 yards per game, or a total of 3,489 yards. Mississippi State sliced and diced the Hogs for 445 big yards, taking their 11-game total to 297.73 ypg, or a total of 3,275. This leaves Brutius 214 yards behind Coach with one game to play.

For several weeks it has been suspected that the outcome of this bet would be settled in Oxford. What was not expected was the small number of yards Mississippi State would have to earn to put Brutius over the top. With a mere 215 yards, Brutius will claim victory.

(In post buy/sell, if he loses, Coach will live up to his word. Sell. Big time. Buying him getting a new user name like Coach35 or something like that.)

out on a limb and say that if coach loses the bet, he doesn't honor the agreement by saying that he never made that bet or something ridiculous like that

I will make sure the loser of this bet honors it's terms. I will seek out new usernames and ban them with extreme prejudice.

Can't you just ban IP addresses?

Who will stir **** up? And, especially if Coach is gone, who will some of the obsessed people on the board have to constantly ***** and moan about? I'm just asking.

but the other problem is with Coach being a traveling salesman, his IP changes constantly.

if I lose the bet, you won't have to worry about watching for new usernames cause I will quit this place cold turkey. If I win though, I know you will search out and delete any and all usernames created by coach34.

I might be willing to be lenient and let him stay, but there would be strict stipulations like, his new username must be IAmBrutiusBitch and his permanent signature would say something like "Brutius knows more about sports than I will ever know"

But the consensus yesterday in the chat room was that I shouldn't be lenient and let him renig on his bet, so I probably want. Just thought it was a fun thought.

If MSU can't get 215 yards of offense against their rival, I deserve to leave the board, thats for sure.

Your friend,
Brutius

LSU had exactly 215 yards against us yesterday.

So it all comes down to if MSU can put up more yards against Ole Miss than LSU did.

If your passing game is on, I think you can.

... I think it's only fair. He should at least be gone through basketball season, when his idiocy shines the brightest.

I'll leave and go quietly like I said I would. Bulldawg Junction is just as good a place to talk sports and get info

But with rain in the forecast Friday, you just never know what can happen...

There's a reasonably good chance we won't get the 215 yards needed for him to win the bet. Our offense is very very bad in case you haven't noticed.

or is the actual following through of an internet bet gayer than the internet bet?

you don't have to leave. I think the fact of knowing you won the bet should suffice.

is that the whole thing started with me saying we should be a Spread team and Brutius arguing aGAINST that- so what happens? Crooms let the staff run the Spread and we have our biggest offensive day of the season...

Losing the bet for arguing for something we should do and then we finally do it is pretty hilarious...

I don't want either of them to leave either.

If Coach wins, Brutius has to change his user name to Meateater and change his avatar to the GOP logo.

If Brutius wins, Coach has to change his user name to Croomloverz4eva and change his avatar to a picture of Stansbury.

....seriously, I am neutral as to anybody leaving. With Coach what the board would gain in IQ, we would lose in entertainment value. However, there needs to be some kind of consequences. Everybody on this board is sick of Coach mouthing off and saying stuff and then not backing it up. They should be gone for three months at least. Oh, and if internet bet consequences are stupid, then his nickname should be restored.

I never argued against the spread, I just one day said that Michigan was sucking under the greatest coach ever and you spouted that you bet that they would end up higher than MSU in total offense. I said they wouldn't and the bet was sprung.

I am a fan of using your talent the best way possible, something Rich Rodriguez obviously didn't do this year.

Running the Spread is like eating meat: It's good for us.

"Everybody on this board is sick of Coach mouthing off and saying stuff and then not backing it up"

What do you mean "not backing it up"? The whole damn thing with Brutius was about me saying we should run the Spread. He said we shouldnt cause it wouldnt help. And if Brutius ends up winning the damn bet- it will be because we started running the 17'ing Spread...So, even if I lose the bet, us running the Spread the last two games shows I was right in the first damn place.

"Oh, and if internet bet consequences are stupid, then his nickname should be restored."

Careful what you ask for Tonto...that was an amendment to mine and HD's bet about SC being a top 20 defense...I got control of the board for a week in the original bet...and I dont think you'd really want that...

This board thrives on the ****-stirring. Plus one time some new guy got into it with coach34 and apparently actually believed that he was a condom salesman and was using that as an insult. That was the best unintentional comedy I have ever read on these internets. You can't throw away the potential for that to happen again.

....but since you keep bringing it up, I'm pretty sure that the only thing we did differently on offense on Saturday was play a ****** defense. I know you didn't go, so don't give me all that.

where I said running the spread would be bad for MSU. Oh what's that? You can't because I never said it? That's what I thought.

I said then and I say now, the spread offense isn't the end all be all. Michigan is very close to last in total offense this year and they run Rich Rodriguez spread. The spread looks a lot better when you have PAt White or Steve Slaton or Tim Tebow or <fill in a future NFL player> than it does when you have Lee or Carroll.

Of course anything looks better than what Croom has done the past 5 years minus a few games.

So we usually run most of our offense out of the shotgun? You know we don't
We usually throw the ball on 1st down? You know we don't
We throw it 40 times in a game? You know we don't</p>

Oh, and the 17'ing coaches said they did something different...</p>

but you know more than them huh? Idiot</p>
