Marital law is always in effect, amirite married guys?
So you've met my wife?
Marital law is always in effect, amirite married guys?
I've been working for months and I'm just fine and so is everyone I know. We've been taken for a ride here it's gonna become more obvious by the day and people are gonna be furious. They already are. We're basically living in east Germany right now
With all due respect, you comes across as a hyper-political zealot who only sees things through an extreme-right wing lens. This isn't a global conspiracy to hurt the re-election chances of President Trump no matter how many times Limbaugh says it.
The spouse of one of my cousins, a 42-year-old man from Pennsylvania who ran marathons for fun is going in the ground Friday. Cause of death COVID-19. He was fine less than 10 days ago.
Your "hasn't affected me so it must not be real" attitude is pitiful if you're older than 21. If you're a fully grown adult, yikes. We're up to 206,000 cases with 4,800 deaths in a month. We're still 30-90 days from the peak. Do the math if you're capable.
Thanks for doing your part, you're a real patriot!!
that's nothing. For one percent of the population to get this there would have to be 3.2 million cases. You have absolutely no perspective whatsoever. The odds of this killing you is astronomical! You're not even likely to get it. 30-90 days from the peak you don't even know peak from your own ***
The whole thing is political why was a bill passed to the tune of over 2 trillion dollars with nothing but left wing causes? Why is Pelosi and schiff drumming up another impeachment?
I don't really care what anyone else wants to do quite frankly. I'm working and going about my life and I'm not participating in this panic. If the "experts" told you to paint yourself orange and jump in a lake would you do it ?
if the media is beating the drum that this is only gonna get worse you can basically rest assured that the worst of it is over because they've done nothing but lie for 20 years and they didn't decide to start telling the truth with this. It would be a cold day in hell before the Chinese government or the American media gives you the truth about anything
you and your left wing pals know exactly how you're exploiting this to get everything you want and then you accuse the right of making it political when we're already on defense. I'm not fooled and I'm not arguing with you anymore. This is not even anything new you did the same with bush and Katrina. Same playbook. Dance on the graves because some people dying is inevitable.
Good thing for us we've got the best medicine in the world and we'll have the most cases and the least dead that I can assure you
it's a win win for the left if it gets worse they'll say we told you so. If it gets better they'll say it's only because we told you what to do and like good sheeple you listened.
If this is how democrats are gonna exploit a crisis from now on I'm ready for civil war
You're insane.
There's too much whataboutism in all that **** to even bother. It's all fake. Fingers in ears. Lalalala. I see the light now.

Ah whataboutism the liberal word de jour that translates to "I know I'm a fking hypocrite but I hate being called on it" How many abortions were there today scumbag?
If there's a silver lining with this virus it's that it will mostly kill left wingers in turd world left wing cities. And educate people on the importance of securing the border. Not progressives of course they are the antithesis to a free American society
How many abortions were there today scumbag?
Thank you & Godspeed. Did he have one of the new Ruger 5.7x28 ?I work for UKPD, and I can assure you this crap is real, as I'm posted, most days anyway, at the hospital. We use the same PPE that the medical staff use when we have to deal with a crazy, a druggie, etc, etc. I haven't seen my parents, who are in their 80's, for almost a month, for their sake. I wash my hands so much at work I have to keep a bottle of lotion on hand due to dry hands at the end of the day. I don't like it, (who does?), but I'm expected to be at work and on post, and my bills have to be paid; my kid has to be fed, etc, etc. We're all in this together folks, but I firmly believe we will come out much the stronger at the end, whenever that may be.
Today I had to go to Kroger, no choice, and it was packed. (In Richmond, Ky.) I got what I needed, thanked as many employees as I could, and got out. Btw, they were fully stocked on everything except.......drum roll please.....toilet paper and canned goods. Plenty of everything else, and I didn't see anyone hoarding anything.
My son and I love to bass fish, and I finally got him to try, and learn, to use a baitcaster. He's now learned it, as best he can since he's a southpaw and I'm not; all my reels are right handed. So, since we're going to our "super secret" pond where NOBODY but us, and the family of the owner, are allowed to fish, I had to buy him a lefty baitcaster. Wal Mart didn't have any, but our local fishing goods store was open, but via a locked door, only allow one person to enter at a time. Terrific idea, IMO. They had exactly what I wanted, plus a few new spinner baits I bought for him, and I was in and out in under 15 minutes and the next guy was then allowed in. More small businesses need to follow this example, and I'm sure a lot are, but some are not.
On a whim, I stopped by a local gun shop an old friend owns. I'd been in the mind to buy a new shotgun and a nice little Ruger 9mm,; shotgun for my son and the Ruger for dad.Sure enough he, along with two buddies of his were just hanging out with an open front door. He states he's not worried about the virus; I don't understand that line of thinking myself but he's not going to change his way of thinking now. That, I fear is what too many are thinking: that this is either not real, or it's being blown out of proportion, and it will only cause this **** to go on longer than is necessary.
And where do you come up with a 30 to 90 day peak, if I may ask?
I'm hearing mid-April, from Drs. Fauci and Birx and the IMHE website. Those are my sources; what are yours?
The difference between a peak in about two weeks, as opposed to a peak in 30 to 90 days, is the difference between approximately 75,000 to 100,000 deaths and probably over 250,000 deaths with mitigation. It's also a difference of seeing a return to normalcy to in early June as opposed to the end of the summer. The current situation may or may not be sustainable with a peak in mid-April but would be absolutely catastrophic to the economy if it goes on much longer than that. So this is not a "gnat" but a very serious issue and I seriously hope that the scientific experts, as opposed to message board experts, are correct about the likelihood of a mid-April peak (which actually makes sense in any event when dealing with a coronavirus as opposed to a rhinovirus). Because if this hasn't started slowing down by the end of May, absent a miracle cure, the current shutdown situation will be absolutely impossible to continue, to maintain any semblance of a functioning nation, and the other option will be the doomsday scenario projected in the initial Imperial College report. You’re straining at gnats.

No, it's not and your post reveals either a misunderstanding of the IMHE model or perhaps a propensity for telling everyone that the **** sandwich that we're eating is only going to get worse and that we're all going to have to like it- this crisis has sure brought out the inner assistant principal/hall monitor in quite a few of us these days. The Virginia peak is May 19 in terms of deaths. That means that the actual peak of new case increase will be around the end of April in Virginia. Deaths are a lagging indicator. In any event, the projections from Drs. Fauci and Birx are what are effectively guiding the President right now, and his schedule is to have things largely phasing back to normal at the end of the month. It is a gnat because you’re hung up on a detail that ultimately isn’t that relevant to the broader point the other poster was making.
But it also reveals your lack of understating of the IHME model. The mid-April peak is the national peak, which is simply an aggregation of all of the state level peaks. The mid-April is primarily driven by states like New York.
There are many other states where the peak is forecasted to occur much later. Virginia, for example, is not forecasted to peak until late May. This is why the Virginia governor issued a lockdown of the state until June 10.
So even though the date range isn’t really relevant to the other poster’s point, his understanding of the peak is more accurate than yours.

I am aware.None of these measures are intended to be 100 percent effective at stopping the virus. They are intended to slow the virus to avoid a spike that would overwhelm the health care system.
That's why the sooner we get back to normal life the better. Of course the democrats are fascists and want martial law as well as the destruction of this economy, which is why you're seeing draconian and unprecedented restrictions on our freedom. It won't be tolerated for long and it's already not being tolerated. It also makes no sense as you pointed out because people are allowed to go to things that are open. And a lot of things are open

What you really mean to say there’s a big difference between a republican and a libertarianthere's a big difference between Republicans and conservatives. Most of the gop is not they loveee spending money just as much as the Dems. I never saw McConnell so happy
What you really mean to say there’s a big difference between a republican and a libertarian
From my viewpoint, what the classical, post-New Deal Republican has typically been defined as is what we consider a Libertarian these days.yeah not a bad point that...I'm pretty conservative but I do have some libertarian leanings on some things
From my viewpoint, what the classical, post-New Deal Republican has typically been defined as is what we consider a Libertarian these days.
Republicans post-Reagan are really only socially conservative. They like to spend just as much as the Democrats but want to keep issuing tax cuts so they can have the guise of cutting spending. But really they are doing that so they can put more money in their own pockets.
Remember when you thought there was "no way" we'd reach 2000 deaths and you were spectacularly wrong? This is another one of those cases. You are literally incapable of understanding the magnitude of what's happening.that's nothing. For one percent of the population to get this there would have to be 3.2 million cases.
Hell no I don't want it. And I don't believe it will happen, but unless people are literally made to stay home by force, these "stay at home orders" are useless. Not sure if things are different in KY, I know that Beshear has been pretty proactive about all this. Here in Indiana you can literally go anywhere. State parks are still open, grocery stores, gas stations, etc. Outside of maybe New York, I'm sure you can travel at your leisure most other places as well. State governments say not to leave, and sure plenty of folks abide, but at the same time many do not. If I was stopped by the police and questioned about where I was going I could just say I'm going to Kroger.
The only way this works is if the police are sitting outside your neighborhood stopping folks from coming in and leaving. And if we get to that point, I'm afraid things may get ugly.
Thank you & Godspeed. Did he have one of the new Ruger 5.7x28 ?
No, actually his inventory was quite low. He said a lot of the manufacturers had a lot on back order. I wanted some extra clips, but those are on back order as well.Thank you & Godspeed. Did he have one of the new Ruger 5.7x28 ?
I don’t need suggestions from people who **** the constitution and people’s rights daily like yourself. You didn’t say anything along those lines and I wouldn’t pay much attention to what that poster said about this.
Unfortunately there a number of people who have a weak understanding of the concept of liberty and the principles this nation was founded upon, and because of that, believe it justifies what’s really nothing more than an self-centered approach to life.
This is nothing new and we’ve had to deal with this throughout US history. If this were the early days of the republic, then these posters are the types of people who’d be members of the Whiskey Rebellion, ready to tuck tail and flee from a militia led by George Washington.
Stay safe out there and appreciate the work you’re doing right now.
I went back and re-read my post before I responded to him. I think you nailed it sir, and thank you, much appreciated. I've been off for 5 days, but I'm needed back at work for the next 2, so I'm going into work in the am.You didn’t say anything along those lines and I wouldn’t pay much attention to what that poster said about this.

I would have been right there doing goon things with George Washington. Imagine politicians and cops overstepping back then like they do now. They would have Been tarred and feathered on the courthouse square
for the people by the people
