The current funding cannot be clawed back based on a legal analysis I read yesterday. Yes, it is against the law for state officials to not follow our immigration laws. But that is not enough. What must happen is in the October appropriations, language must be inserted into the funding of cities that states specifically, that if you accept this grant/money, you must do these specific things regarding immigration enforcement (e..g. specifically hold illegal aliens when a detainer is issued).
So it appears, that money cannot be stopped today. But come October, that will change.
