such as a criminal getting shot by a homeowner or a guilty verdict in a criminal trial such as Karen Irby. That is where you find your real Pulitzer material.

There's an inversely proportional relationship between # of hits and quality of comments. Wade through YouTube comments (how a video of kittens can lead to a string of nothing but racial slurs in 3 comments is beyond me) and Yahoo/AOL-hosted blogs sometime you really want to get fed up with humanity.

What scares me the most is that when I read a CL story at 700am CT, there are close to 50 comments already on it, none of which contribute anything other than the lowest common denominator of sports talk.

I have to agree fully with this statement. I have never seen a larger collection of stupid in my whole life than the comment sections of the Clarion Ledger not just the sports stories either. Just about every story the CL runs. I really hope people from out of this state don't read the comment sections and think those people are the norm in Mississippi.

By the way, I come in peace. I know my alma mater isn't the most popular on this board. Also, wanted to give this board some major props. By far the best message board out of all of the Big 3 schools in Mississippi. I've been lurking for a long time now, first time posting. I wish we had a board this good for USM. Our two choices: one board has people who act like they've never been on the internet before and have never seen a troll (sort of like the CL comment section). The other choice is pretty much the same 10 people sitting around circle j*rking each other in every thread.

Good luck to you dawgs this season. You guys have a hell of a coach and are a team on the rise.

Glad I could give you a chuckle. The sad part is that it is a pretty apt statement regarding eaglepost.net. Like I've said, I've been lurking for a long time. I always loved your sig too. I thought it was hilarious when you altered it after the Super Bowl. Never thought I'd see it happen in my lifetime.

They also have the right to vote....which is comforting.

I love the Keg and Barrel by the way...
I have a sneaking suspicion of the punchline. Keg and Barrel is a great bar. Too bad it opened right at the end of my senior year and I've only been a couple of times. I'll probably be hitting it up this year when I'm down there for the games. Speaking of some good food and drink, I know Starkville has a Mugshots now. I love that place.

If you get your choice, I'd try to make it to the Kansas game. If work doesn't interfere like it seems to quite often do, that is one I'm dying to attend.

The first reposne will be "Kyle, What did Tebow score on the Wonderlic?"

The next one will be a rebel using "Mullens".

Then, it's off into the stratosphere. I try my best not to read any of them, but my eyes tend to wonder after I finish the blog. It's time to reevaluate this whole First Amendment deal.

That is something else that has always bugged me. I'll never understand why even when I'm old and gray. I could understand if a State fan was being demeaning to Houston Nutt by calling him "Nutts" but people having been adding an unnecessary "s" at the end of coaches' names for as long as I can remember. My own mom used to call me in college and for years she was convinced our old head coach's name was Jeff Bowers. I don't think my mom was being insulting, she honestly thought his name was Bower"s" I heard your previous coach called Crooms every day of his tenure. I haven't heard "Fedoras" yet but every day in the CL comment section, some jackass refers to Dan Mullen as "Dan Mullens." even though every coach I've mentioned has their name spelled correctly IN THE FRICKING TITLE of the article.

Is this a bad joke I don't get or do people actually think when a man becomes a football coach, he automatically pluralizes his name upon accepting the job?
