picks AU to win 44-3. He is not a homer, just a guy who sells his pick services. Goes on to say that our D is our biggest weak link.

If we lose 44-3 we are in big heap of trouble.

No 17ing way they beat us anywhere near that bad. I'd be shocked if they beat us by 1/2 that many points. They're "only" favored by 14 and he's picking them to win by 41! WTF?</p>

He's selling his services? Well, he's ripping people off. He's just throwing crap out there to make Auburn fans feel good or will use it to say that Auburn should have won by that much so finebum can rip Auburn up for his Bama fans if they don't win by that much.

He said that after watching our spring game that we did not have the skill players to run Mullen's offense and also that we are only return 4 on defense. You cannot tell a single thing from our spring game other than Wilder made some plays down field and there was actually scoring. Some of the most impressive plays are from players that left the team. We will be able to stop the run on the defense, and we will give up some big passing plays. I do not know if we will win but this is a pretty even game in my view.</p>

...but I do think a blowout loss is more likely than a win. I'm not being negative towards Mullen or anything; we just don't have the talent. We're going to have to show tremendous improvement in all phases of the game to beat Auburn.

that would be a 50% increase in scoring dubmass.....you know take 2 and multiply it by 1.5 = 3

Do they think they can somehow hide the fact they screwed up? My rule is, if I catch my screwup before anybody else does, I edit it. If not, I just leave it.

markup method is employed it is 33%. They use the % of the final number that the markup is. 3 points is 1 more than 2 and therefore 1 is 33% of the overall number 3. It is an old trick to try to hide the true markup.

with the wizard Chizik at the helm and that what's his name bum that replaced the almighty Croom at the helm of MSU. That is instantly a 41 point turnaround. Really though.. this guy just got on Finebaum to advertise himself to Auburn listeners. You know there are hundreds of Auburn fans out there that said "At least someone is smart enough to know what is really going to happen" and plop down ten bucks or so a month to read what this idiot writes. I would be surprised....no absolutely shocked if he picked Alabama to run over everyone this season also.

The situations behind the firings aren't even comparable.

And neither is the talent on the teams.

We beat them at Auburn in 2007. We lost 3-2 last year, and missed 2 FG's and Auburn turned the ball over about 40 times.

So, yes, why shouldn't we compare? Sounds like we are pretty even to me. Auburn is better this year, but let's face it - they downgraded their coaching situation. We upgraded - no matter what you think of Mullen, he's an improvement over the Walrus. I think we can legitimately hope for a win Saturday.

And we have beaten them 3 out of the last 4 times we have faced them.

Yet, I wouldn't dare attempt to compare Ole Miss' and Florida's programs, because they are vastly unequal.

The talent difference in Auburn and MSU is huge.

The programs aren't even comparable.

Not exactly.

Y'all are fully capable of beating AU on Saturday.

But to act as if the programs are comparable right now is just foolish.

I don't see how you can possibly say that, when you just look at the last 2 years. Split the last 2 games. Lost by 1 point last year. They were 5-7, we were 4-8 - and they had an immensely better coach than we did. So what do you base this perception on? The fact that you hate State? I'm sure they have better talent, but it can't be that big a difference. If so, then you are basically saying that Croom did a better job than Tuberville.

I guess I was hoping you were just trolling and not actually that big of a dumbass.

I despise LSU and Alabama much, much more than State. I don't hate State by any stretch of the imagination.

Your argument doesn't hold much water considering they won 9 games the previous season, and 29 games over the three years previous to their 5-7 finish last year.

Last year was an aberration, and Tommy T was fired because Bobby Lowder is a dumbass and wants to run the program. It was widely recognized throughout the college football world that AU was not only stupid for firing Tubs, but dumbasses for hiring Chizik.

Again, last year's 5-7 finish was an aberration as far as their program is concerned.

Previous head-to-head results have no bearing on the comparable status of a program and predictability of a win. If that was the case, then you would expect Vandy to be a favorite against Ole Miss in a few weeks, as they have beaten Ole Miss 3 of the last 4 times...yet we all know that won't happen.

There is a reason why AU is a 12.5 point favorite...because they're expected by the bettors to whip your ***. The great thing about college football is that we get to find out if they are right or wrong.

I personally think you have a chance.

Definitely. Probably upgraded defensive coordinators too. The jury is out on the head coach, but it looks like a definite downgrade. Just saying ... overall ... their current staff may be better than last year's.

do you post on a lot of Alabama and LSU boards as well?

In that 9 win season you are talking about, we won 8, and one of those was against Auburn.

Exactly... In my eyes, this is a pretty even match-up of two teams that are in transition. It could easily go either way. I have no idea why this is so hard for some people to see. Also, I think numbnutts thinks that when a State fan says they think this game is a pretty even match then we are saying our entire programs history is on an even plain as Auburns, which is not what is being said.

If the following is true:

Then how was last year only an aberration? If they hired such a terrible coach, wouldn't that make last year the norm?
